Absolutely. But a lot of people have a hard time letting of the narratives that run their lives. It'll take snyder 20years of ownership the right way to erase the first 10 from the minds of the huddled masses.

Well, that's part of Danny's "punishment" and his nobody to blame but himself. I think he realized that he controls the legacy that he'll be remembered by.

To set the record straight...Our owner has done everything in his efforts to bring a championship to this Beloved, but very spoiled city! Some methods have worked...some hasn't. Dan, tried and brought you back Joe Gibbs with play-off success. He brought you players and draft picks that made this team loveable and envied. Example, Lavar Arrington, Chris Samuels, Sean Taylor, Laron Landry, Chris ey, Fred Davis, Carlos Rogers, Brian Orakpo, and now the proverbial R.G.3...Free Agents, Marcus Washington, Shawn Springs, London Fletcher, Santana Moss, a can't miss trade for Clinton Portis.

In twelve years of ownership, he has done more than most franchises have done in a lifetime. It is NOT easy to win championships! We have won 5 in 80 years of existence!!! Trust me...we will soon, again, host the Lambordi Trophy as we continue to Fight for Ol' DC!

Sure Dan has made mistakes...but who hasn't? There is no school for NFL ownership. It's a job you learn as you go. He has done well and is improving. Jack Kent Cooke didn't win a championship until about decade later with the hiring of one, Joe Gibbs. After Gibbs retired in '92, Our beloved team suffered a laughingstock '90's. We toiled and suffered drafting Heath Shuler, the firing of Coach Ritchie Pettibone after one season. The hiring of a former Cowboys coach in Norv Turner. Losing a franchise QB in Trent Green, the head- butting wall incident with Guss. Nobody bashes the beloved, late owner of the Steelers, Art Rooney. They had almost 40 years of losing before becoming the team of the '70's. Both Jerry Jones and Bob Craft both won championships in the mid-nineties and 2000's respectively, with both marquee QB's and great players. But guess what...NONE since!!! Are they terrible owners?

We have had our share of lows for our SKINS, in the last twenty years...But brighter days are now here! You all relax and Enjoy!!!

While I can't make any credible claims that I'd be a better owner than Snyder, I can credibly claim that if I was owner of the Skins at age 34, I would not have that approach to building a team at all.

And I don't think "trying hard" is a good enough excuse for the mistakes he made during that time. A confused fool with lots of money is something to pity, not to admire.

I understand that Champ might have had some extenuating circumstances affect his playing IF he had stayed ... we really don't know

I'm fine with Snyder as he is now ... he certainly did not have a clue about how to own and run an NFL franchise for a number of years

I thought the main issue was that Bailey would not play in Washington any longer. For whatever reasons, maybe could not tolerate Snyder's organization any longer.

If so, then I guess you try to get as much as possible for Bailey. Which is not to say that trading Bailey should have been the team's first choice...

he might have felt that he could do better elsewhere but he basically was 'forced' to leave - NOT by the Redskins

The compensation for a franchise player is two first and the best CB in the NFL is certainly worth that. So we traded the best CB in the NFL for the third best RB in the AFC West AND gave Denver a 2nd! That means Snyder and Gibbs thought Portis was worth two 1st and a 2nd.

When I first heard the trade I thought we had traded Bailey got Portis and a 2nd and I was upset that we didn't get a 1st. Then when I was livid when I found out that we gave the 2nd instead of getting one.

It was I horrendous trade, value wise. It didn't matter if CP turn out to be a HoF RB! RBs just aren't that valuable! The value at the time of the trade was lopsided in favor of the Broncos.

I'm just waiting on MS to trade one of our RB to the Jets for Reevis and a second, but only the Snyder Skins are that dumb.

Champ was not a game-changer db for the SKINS while he was here. He was good...but he was no Revis Island. We made the best of a win-win situation and got Portis. I am pleased with all that transpired.

Dan Snyder may in time become a good owner but to think he will have the character and integrity to be regarded as one of the best is a stretch

Only time will tell if Dan Snyder has learned that in order to be considered a better owner than he was, he needs to stay out of the FO stuff

The Portis trade was not brilliant but considering some of the other moves that Snyder was a part of it wasn't terrible either

He is, obviously, a very successful businessman, who knows how to run a business, especially the one called the Washington Redskins!

sorry mate - you need to understand the difference between being a successful businessman & NFL franchise owner which Snyder is, having improved the value of this franchise like he has done

AND

what Dan Snyder has done to this franchise as far as what goes on the football field is concerned (admittedly, with the help of Vinny Cerrato)

THAT is what we are pointing to when we say that Dan Snyder is one of the worst owners in the NFL - NOT the worst, just right up there

Dan Snyder has to stay away from anything to do with the players on this roster in order for this franchise to be competitive again

it will happen - however, what he did will take at least another year under Bruce and Mike to undo
