Banks was the victim of spotty QB play and miscues on his part. When the ball was where it needed to be, he didn't take advantage.

That may be, but a more physically gifted (and dare I say better?) receiver would have done a better job fighting for that ball in traffic. To use an extreme example: is there any doubt that Megatron would have come down with it for a huge gain? Yes, it was underthrown, but that shouldn't have been the end of the play.

I don't think comparing any reciever, let alone one fighting for a roster spot, to the best WR in the game is useful...even if admitting it's extreme. Banks broke up an underthrown ball and kept a sure pick from happening and i think expecting a reception in that scenario is wishful thinking, most balls that are underthrown into double coverage aren't caught. Would we like those balls to be caught, sure, but he did his job and made a play on the ball. I don't know if he makes the team or not but picking on him for this play is silly (not saying only you are). Santana Moss probably doesn't do any better and there's no guarantee any of our recievers would in that situation. Maybe that's what people are upset about, we don't have a Megatron or similar? I still think BB has a shot and could be used in bubble screens, working out of the slot, etc.

If you're reading camp reports about our o-linemen being man-handled in indiviual drills, please take into consideration the following...

- We specifically choose smaller/lighter/versatile linemen.
- We run a 3-4, which means HUGE BODIES, especially on the line.
- Individually, those small linemen will have trouble against the big bodies. But working as a cohesive unit, they'll use leverage and assistance to their advantage.

That explains why they looked better than the local reporters would lead you to believe. Not saying they're great.

I agree with this big time. I just don't think Banks has what it takes to be a WR, he tries hard but this is the NFL where you put the best out on the field. Punt returner ...gadget play all I see for banks, sorry.
RG3....Super Man....check out my socks!!!

If Banks were not on the roster Moss would be the smallest WR on the Roster..... Moss would have went and got that pass

+1

I thought it was odd that Banks got more looks than any other WRs (8-9), throw in the fact Crawford got more attempts in the return game than Banks... makes me now think Kyle and Mike wanted a good long look at Banks early in the pre-season.

Maybe the plan is for the defensive front seven to manhandle anybody in front of them, kind of like they manhandled the Bills last night. :D

Say what you want about the O-line, RGIII didn't have to get out of the dirt once last night and the Bills spent good money this off-season on their D-line. If defenses are ahead of offenses, why did the Bills defense go without a sack against depleted O-line that they should already be ahead of.

Maybe last night's Redskins starting offensive line was ahead of the Bills defensive line, maybe people will figure out the two guys that every talking head in front of a camera are saying will be the key to the Redskins having a good offensive line are the same two guys that weren't there for most of last season. Maybe people will realize the starting O-line last night is the same starting O-line the team closed last season out with. Once you consider adding T. Williams for his undrafted replacement from the last 4 games last season you actually can argue they've up graded.

Maybe people will look at the rest of the NFC East and realize the Washington Redskins are the only team returning the same O-line as last season, and remember ANY change in the starting five will effect the other four.

I'd like to see the line look bad before I label them... which might be why I have said they look real good :D
