^^^^ This Guy says he will no longer make "Gansta Rap" music, but will make music that his grandmother and kids can listen to.

He is now this guy  Image

"I didn't just want to come here and say I made a record in Jamaica and grew some dreadlocks," insists rapper Snoop Dogg in the trailer for Reincarnated, announced today as an official selection of this year's Toronto International Film Festival. "Rastafari called me." Watch the trailer for Reincarnated for your first glimpse of Snoop Dogg — or rather, Snoop Lion, his newly minted reggae identity — leaving hip-hop behind to sing and smoke up a storm in his new rasta life.

Snoop Dogg Is Snoop Lion in Reggae Doc Reincarnated

He say's he's Bob Marley re-incarnated, I followed both of them and I'm pretty sure they walked this earth at the same time. We know that's not true, but what do you think about Snoop Lion not being the D-O-double G?
:feedback;
I like what he's saying but I gotta go with Option 3

I can go with that, he's just growing up, although I'd try and squeeze some more booty in than that!

Listen, if the man finally found the right path, Jah bless. I look at Bob like a prophet, so saying he is the second coming is a bit (sorry...WAY) far fetched. Bob has proved in every part of his life to be on this Earth for one thing...the unity of man kind and was NEVER chasing coin. Snoop so far has been the exact opposite. We shall see if he is a changed man.

Anyone happen to see Bunny in that video? Saw him in concert a few years back. That guy is awesome. If you have the chance, you can now rent the Marley movie on Facebook again. Highly recommend it.

Snoop is changing his life for the better. Rasta isn't just a "religion", it's a discipline.

I wish him the best because it's very hard to do and I'm rooting for him 100% to make it through considering he's been in a gang for majority of his life and has seen some pretty evil crap.

Rate dat yute to di max for it.. Jah know star, it tough in life but meh give him nuff ratings cuz he's trying. Di breda went to dem temples and tings dawg.. spoke wit nuff elders and get some real wisdom.

Good luck Snoop.

Yes this is snoop obviously.

Original rap, hip hop started in the ghettos. Many minorities were tired of being poor and needed a way to express themselves. I dont like the modern day Rap. It has turned to crap. But I do appreciate the original stuff. The real Hip Hop.
One of the very first Rap Songs a Rapper just simply explains his frustrations of living as a young man with no education, no job, basically dirt broke and seemingly no hope.

This song pretty much sums up the birth of Hip Hop/Rap.
This song is called the message. He really wants you to hear his message. A cry for help. Here is the Link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4o8TeqKhgY

When I was young this was the Rap I knew. Along with rap came breakdancing etc. Hip Hop was just a frustrated group of people trying to find a positive way to express themselves.

Later on in the Ninties enter NWA, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. I live in Cali so I experienced this first hand. NWA, Snoop etc.. brought what is called gangster rap. All they were doing was telling you what happens in the streets of LA. Seriously it was not a place to be at night.

However now Rap has just been exploited to its fullest. No longer has any real meaning. Just as commercial as Pepsi Cola. Really to a true Hip Hopper it is dead. Music nowadays sucks. Or maybe I am just getting older. At the same time people in the ghetto have evolved some. Or at least the generation I grew up with.

Here are some real rap songs. No holds barred when the artist was really hungry and trying to make it. Check it out if you are curious.

This is the point of view of a group of young guys from New York in the ninties.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrsfJHLx5YA

Dre and Snoops classics along with Warren G. JUst simply giving you there everyday experiences.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qkP8SvHvaU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1plPyJdX ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1plPyJdXKIY

This one in particular always gets the ladies going. Every lady growing up in the ninties knows this song and they love it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Th0V-fxo9CE

This is the world famous Tupac. He is telling you his feelings during a heated beef. He is scared for his life knows his life is going to end soon. He has connections to the illuminati and somehow they are not pleased with him. This song explains his feelings best. He is going physco and is probably high at the time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jabbh1ygC10

This is from the South another ninties classic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz42nWqBKwQ

One of the biggest Rap Groups ever another classic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI6exAvRlUQ

Notorious B.I.G. Well basically the song explains how happy he is that he finally made it. After struggles he finally succeeded and is giving you the real emotions. Seriously if you cant feel this then I dont know man.

Not disagreeing with either Herohamo or CKR, but they've both managed to leave off what in my youth and to this day is the best rap group ever. Public Enemy. They combined the anger and outrage that was given first rap voice in The Message, politicized it and brought it on a mass scale. Quite frankly, even when making a pop hit ( 911 is a Joke) they were always, always making a point. They wrote lyrics that had substance and was literally shouting to be heard.

There are better lyricists, beat makers and, obviously sellers; there are no better rap artists.
