NFL's toughest players
Here is a little poll over at ESPN.com.....
ESPN The Magazine
Who's the toughest in every league? Only the players know for sure. So we asked 'em.
In addition, SportsNation wants to know who you think is the toughest guys in each of the four major team sports? Check out our list ranker and make your selections.
MLB | NFL | NHL | NBA
Duce Staley
Steelers RB
Played half of 1998 with a hernia, and still gained more than 1,000 yards.
Brett Favre
Packers QB
His 208 straight starts are impressive. Playing the last 11 with a broken right thumb on his throwing hand is just showing off.
LaDainian Tomlinson
Chargers RB
The 4-12 Chargers' only option last season had every reason (ankle, back, calf and shoulder injuries) to sit. Instead, he caught 100 passes and ran for 1,645 yards.
Rodney Harrison
Patriots S
Says ex-teammate Tomlinson: "Against the Raiders in 2002, he got knocked out cold, took one play off and ran back in. Talk about playing in pain."
Steve McNair
Titans QB
There's "doubtful," "questionable," "probable" and McNair. His turf toe, strained ribs and bad back have kept him out of practices, but not games. He mocks injury lists.
I would take Bret Favre without a doubt. The guy is made of heart and steel. Who do you all think is the toughest out of these guys?

Redskin 4 Life
Yeah, I read that story. I'm sure there are tougher guys in the NFL than Brett Favre. Hell, he was on pain killers half the time. Lavar Arrington coming back from that concussion to make the game/season saving play a couple of years ago comes to mind. No way does a QB qualify for this list, and I'm iffy on whether or not a RB can qualify.

I personally feel that McNair's toughness is a bit over-rated. I'm not sure if toughness should still count even when you're hurt all the time--at some point it's your own fault that you're getting hurt. In my opinion, calling McNair the toughest guy is like commending someone who picked up smoking so that they can quit.
But I'm probably wrong and biased against non-Redskins. By the way, how come Smoot, Jansen, Sammuels, and Ramsey aren't on the list? . . .

Dallas Cowboys RB, Eddie George.
Doesnt that just sound like music to your ears?
Hey we released DL Willie Blade. He did good for us last year. You guys should take a look.
How will teams ever stop the three yard juggernaut?!
I got your number. I steal your thunder. I got your mother's maiden name tattooed on my arm.

When and why? I didn't hear about that.
Today Tsaler,
He was fat and out of shape and didnt do what Parcells wanted.
he was good last year against the run, so if Gibbs can whip him into shape he may be worth a look.
