Horrible. There is no justice when Goodell gets involved. Mara must be loving this.

It was reported on 106.7 the Fan by Grant Paulsen (sp?) that the Skins and Cowgirls will release a joint statement today saying they accept the arbitrator's ruling and the matter is closed.

If this is true, every fan that goes to either of the Giants game this year needs to have signs saying they aren't happy about Mara and GoDaHell stealing $36M.

So we are supposed to just take this up the tail pipe like a 150lb prisoner?

We? The reality is, while it sucks, it's not "we" that are screwed... ultimately, it's a private matter. "We" have no standing in the issue. I'm sure that the Danny and Jerruh will figure out some way to screw over Mara at some point...

Clearly, the Giants own the arbitrator... and the union best be careful. You make a deal with the devil (as they did in this case)... and, it sucks to be you.

If I was running the show I would let it go at this point and focus on my fantastic new QB and young squad. The reality is the team is no worse off than it would have been if it had not done what it did (I think anyway, or maybe only a little worse off). Let it go, kumbya and such. Focus on starting a new era of Redskins football and put the past behind us.

Well surprise, surprise....

I was astonished by the optimism shown by many here that we'd get this money back, + draft picks said some!!!

This walking toilet stain Goodell has everything covered and is clearly in Mara's pocket.

We never had a chance....

Perhaps we can convince the Danny to put Mara's private box in one of the upper deck urinals...

Thanks for clarifying this, Judge Judy. I'm sure you're right in the eyes of the law. As for us fans, WE have every right to feel like we just got shafted royally. Goodell didn't just screw over Snyder and Jones, he gave two huge fingers to all of the fans and said, "The rules of the game are whatever I say they are." Its hardly a private matter.

I have to admit I think the Skins have done "ok" this year in spite of the cap penalty, so whether this is over or not, we'll survive. I just think the punishment was completely unfair, and the timing of it was flat out ruthless.

Your snide attempt at adolescent condescension aside, the FACT is, YOU get to suck up and deal... or whine like a baby. It is completely a private matter. Notice that there has been no discussion of the documentation that accompanied the ruling... you have no right to it... and unless the league, the union, or the plaintiffs get stupid, you and I will probably never know exactly what the ruling was. You don't have to like it... but, it's not your business, nor is it mine.

There is no question that the Commisioner was out of line, and illegally punished teams for refusing to collude. The "punishment" was calculated and timed to maximize damage.

Nothing will be done. There's probably a strong case that could be made that there were multiple violations of Labor and Antitrust law in this action... but, unless a party with standing wants to take it to court, it's going nowhere. The NFLPA has standing... but already legally signed off on the collusion, chosing to turn a blind eye. The Redskins and Dallas will do nothing... while they, no doubt, have a very powerful case... starting a Federal suit would be the business equivalent of putting a gun to their own heads, and pulling the trigger.

The Redskins did an remarkable job in FA, considering Goddell's sabotage. It will end here. the Danny and Jerruh didn't make their money by being stupid.

Pretty much all that is left is for you to throw tomatoes at the little emperor when he grows the balls to show up at a game at Fedex.

Under any other circumstance 8/10 people would BLINDLY side with the owners/league. Let this have been a dispute between a player and an "authority figure", lol. I find it amusing.

No. It is not a private matter!!!!!! And Yes, it is we that took it in the shorts.

At least I'm assuming you go to at least some games and watch the team on TV and have some merchandise. Where do you think that $18M came from? It isn't Monopoly money. All the fans of the Washington Redskins paid that $18M that the NFL is allowing other teams to spend.

So we, and yes I mean we, gave the Redskins that $18M with the intent to get some entertainment and hopefully make the team better. The NFL broke the trust of our fans group by stealing our money and giving it to other teams.

If we have any lawyers on this site, anyone up for a class action law suit against the NFL; Asking for our #18M back and damages?

I next consider the Clubs’ arguments seeking to invalidate the Reallocation Letter as ratified by the March 27 Resolution on a variety of grounds under New York law. The chief such ground is breach of fiduciary duty, but the Clubs also rely on New York cases that have invalidated disciplinary actions of unincorporated associations found to have been arbitrary, and they allege tortious interference with the Clubs’ prospective business relations and retaliation against them for refusing to engage in behavior that may have been illegal.

He never addresses this last point. He talks about the fiduciary duty, but never the retaliation for refusing to engage in behavior that was illegal.

Shameful! ;furious;

Jerry and Danny have very good legal advice - we'll soon see if that advice is to take this case any further

I have zero legal background, but I'll be very surprised if this goes any further

this was not handled well by the NFL - at least we don't have those contracts anymore

I hope we all see the payback when it comes - it's going to happen :D

my boys will continue to build and add to this roster - going to be a fun scene here the next few years

I really hope that Mara comes to DC for that Monday night game - that should be fun, maybe not for him or his team

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Unreal! This is infuriating. Goodell and Mara would make successful politicians, methinks; they are crooked and dishonest enough, have the right people in their pockets, and care little about what's right and just.

at no point do any of you, ever, find anything wrong with your beloved team. you are so infatuated, it's literally pathetic.

I got a novel idea for all of you, which apparently is beyond your capability of comprehending and considering : maybe, just maybe, the redskins shouldn't have done what they did with the contracts.

all teams were told up front what they could not do and the redskins decided screw that, we're gonna do it anyways.

maybe if the redskins weren't such a HORRiBLE organization known for making mountainous contract mistakes, they wouldn't had been in a position of feeling like they need to take advantage of a situation to dump their previous mistakes.

yeah I'm aware of the difference between legality and an "agreement". forget that. or, maybe you can't forget it. so I hope it helps you sleep at night that your beloved team didn't so anything legally wrong. that thought won't put a whopping 36 million dollars back on your cap.

maybe your team should have simply decided not to mock the rest of the league and follow the directions they were given.

yeah, I know, it's everybody's fault but the redskins.

so let's see,
fact: your coach has used 8 draft picks on 3 players including two 30+ year olds who contribute nothing

fact: the team he coaches has been penalized 36 million dollars of cap space for violating league agreements

fact: he has finished in last place both years on the job, winning even less games than Jim friggin zorn.

oh yeah, this is a much different regime than in the past. haha.

the Redskins and Cowboys must STRIKE as entire organizations and refuse to participate in the NFL until this outrageous injustice is rightfully overturned and that Burbank guy is FIRED. he is obviously either a complete idiot or has no integrity and was either bribed or otherwise coerced into caving to the NFL's outrageous stance. go ahead and let them try and conduct an NFL season with 2 of their most popular teams missing.

Not gonna happen DCD. It is in Dan and Jerry's interests to let this drop now. The fans can continue to be furious about it, but taking the appeal beyond arbitration would carry potential consequences that cannot be predicted and may be counterproductive for Dan and Jerry.

Time to move on.
