That just seems like the realistic expectation.

That has yet to be determined. The big test is OTA's. He hasn't really put a pounding on that knee yet.

According to Shanahan, it is.

They key line in that article is...

Cooley is no longer dealing with swelling in the knee following workouts, Shanahan said.

workouts

We're talking about a handful of light practices, without full pads, without contact...

I'll be comfortable with the status of his knee come mid-August in the midst of training camp. If his knee is holding up then, we can breathe easy. He also started out last year pretty decent but it flared up. Hence my original comment, it's to be determined.

Yes, but last year he had trouble with the swelling all through the preseason, and early games. Even when he was playing he didn't look like he was even 75%. Now we have this:

Limited to five games and just eight catches for 65 yards, Cooley has received rounds of treatment on the knee that repeatedly swelled up on him and sidelined him off and on throughout the preseason and during practices.

So far, however, his knee has held up well during the Redskins’ offseason conditioning programs, Shanahan said Sunday.

“At the tight end position, Cooley is looking really good in rehab,” the coach said. “There’s been no setback with him working out, him being able to run his routes, no swelling in the knee area.”

That sounds like definite progress.

I'm not saying it isn't progress, it is progress. I'm just waiting until training-camp/preseason to really get my hopes up.

It is rare for a player to remain with a team for a decade. Cooley is going into his 9th year. It would not surprise me to see him depart, but I'd like to see what he has this season at least.
SPIT HAPPENS!!

It's hard for me to believe that whoever our #1 WR is won't lead the team in yards. Best odds are on Garcon but Josh Morgan could surprise.

When it comes to TDs, I could see Fred Davis leading the team.

I'd agree FFA - I think that Moss, Hankerson, Garcon and Morgan will get a lot of yards because of that arm

I just feel that the TEs and backs plus RGIII will keep the chains moving - these guys will become his goto players

RGIII's ability to get yardage on the ground is going to give DCs a fit - he can get 4 yards almost anytime he wants

a 3rd and 3 or 4 is not going to be a big deal with this kid 'running' the offense
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Our WR's have been worthless in the redzone since, well forever. Why?

1. Body-type
2. Ball placement

Ball placement makes body-type less of an issue. RGIII thus far has shown that he acknowledges the importance of ball placement (throwing a WR open) and has the ability to command his passes.

In the past, our TE's have been the only source of TD revenue in games. I expect to see more fade passes and back shoulder throws. I'm standing firm in my belief that a WR (my choice is Hank) will have a big year.
