Moss is my guy too.

Reliable against the rivals, and especially when fully healthy.

He will retire a Skin hopefully.

Also, he'll be playing in the slot, not being asked to be our #1 and getting double teamed all the time.

Jabbar wrote:I just heard. I just talked to Mike Shanahan. He said I was going to be making too much, and that they wanted to see what the other players can do. He said there is a chance I can come back, but he said it would be for around the minimum because I wouldn't be the starter anymore. I am not interested in going from being their leading receiver to being third-string, and having my number taken from me. That is pretty much telling me that I am not going to be making the team. Now Drew (Rosenhaus) can start talking to other teams to find me a new home.
Yea, I want this guy in our locker room. [/sarcasm]
You kicked butt in this conversation Chris. Gaffney was a contributor last year, I'm not discounting that. But he had some really ugly play as well, we need to get younger, and he screwed up his image with the Twitter nonsense and comments like these. We needed the cap as well. Saying he might be able to come back and compete is a nice way of saying get lost.

Don't go away mad, just go away...

IMO three things really stifled this offense.

While the last two can be placed on the shoulders of the QB for the most part but not entirely... The first one is the reason why Jabbar is gone, the reason Moss is further down the depth chart

YARDS AFTER CATCH - Nobody got any YAC last year. To be honest, ball placement... Ok. Technically ball placement is an issue of Rex's but when he did put the ball in the right place, our WR's couldn't do anything after the catch. They all lack big play ability but that's not everyone's fault. Some guys aren't built to take it to the house on any given play cus of their size, Leonard comes to mind. However, our shifty players like Jabbar and Moss are just too old. They're holding the offense back.

LACK OF QB ARM STRENGTH - This DESTROYED Anthony Armstrongs effectiveness. He had a breakout year because why? He's faster than most DB's and McRibb had the arm to lead him past the coverage. Torrey Smith in Baltimore can't run a route to save his life but he can run past people and Flacco has the arm to lead him straight out of bounds, lol. Rex has a noodle arm and often, AA had to cut his route short and the DB defended the pass. AA is not Calvin Johnson....

INTERCEPTIONS - no need to elaborate

Almost every stat of Jabbars and Garcon's are similiar. But most people singing that tune are ignoring TWO OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STATS IN TODAYS PASSING ORIENTED LEAGUE!

- YAC
- TD

Garcon really trumps Jabbar in these category's. They win games. If I remember correctly, I think Garcon had 6 more TD's than Jabbar! How many games did we lose by less than a TD!? Add one TD to 6 games and check what our record could have been.

Perhaps it is just the Shannaplan in motion. It seems like Mike brought him in to ease the pain with Rex, since they had worked together before, but only intended to keep him one year to fill one of many holes in the roster. Yes, he did a solid job in the role, but wasn't spectacular. The plan has us moving on to RGIII and recievers who fit the plan. JG is a good reciever, and will probably catch on somewhere (Pukes?Pats? -they seem to sign everybody) and contribute. If he stayed, I would be comfortable with him on the roster, but I don't see any problem with the remaining group of wr.
The fact that his contract was structured to be a 2.6m hit this year seems to support the idea that he was a one year fix. Does anybody know offhand what he got paid LAST year?

LMAO. I'm just thinking back on last season with Kyle calling deep shots on the arm of Rex Grossman. Painful.

The thing is, those play-calls aren't wrong. U MUST keep a defense honest... AND! AND! If Rex had any sort of ability to anticipate his throwns, he could get those passes off earlier and have the same result. Weaker armed QB's must throw the ball earlier in some of those situations. An arm like RGIII can get away with being indecisive more so than Rex's.

He got a two year deal and will compete with Chad OchoCinco, Julian Edelman, Deion Branch, Anthony Gonzalez, and Donte' Stallworth behind starters Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd, in a city that's not new to him.

Bottom line - we're getting younger and newer. It's hard to kick old habits, but releasing veterans instead of signing them all the time is a welcome change.

That said, the Redskins have done well to keep the most important veterans on the team: Cooley, Moss, Fletcher, D-Hall (many may disagree, but I believe this guy bleeds burgundy & gold), and several linemen on both sides.
