It's Time To Predict Which Rookies Make Opening Day Roster.
Of the 9 picks I believe that 6 have an actual shot of making the opening day roster.
1. Robert Griffin III
2. Kirk Cousins
3. Josh LeRibeus
4. Alfred Morris
5. Jordan Bernstine
6. Keenan Robinson
I think the rest could easily make the practice squad.
The more I review this draft the more I like it. Factor in that 1 UDFA will make the team and you have yourself another successful off-season.
by the way I place everybody in my list from greatest to lowest chance.

Agree, I think if he was healthy he would have been a mid-round draft choice. He probably got a few tips from his dad.

Two mid round rookie guards? I have a hard time seeing that with our RT situation.

Morris is a running back. Got your guards and your running backs mixed up, old boy?

Kaz, must have seen the video on Morris. He runs over people like a guard.

No, got the names mixed up. I was thinking of LeRibeus and Gettis. Oops, my bad.

Morris was the pick I was most upset about. We are set at that position. Because of our depth, I think he may be on the practice squad. THey may have seen him as good value, but I just had never heard much about him before the draft
That said, all the draftees have a shot to make the roster -- based on last year.

RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

What depth? Did I miss something?
FVinny,
I think everyone is assuming Hightower will be back. If he is we are very deep at RB. Maybe one of the NFL's deepest units!
I think Morris its destined fir the PS, if he sicks at all.
RBs get hurt, you always need a young one on your PS.

I know what you're saying. I heard on the radio yesterday though that they like him as a fullback.

I think Compton and Gettis will be in the 53 as well.

RGIII
LeRIbeus
Cousins
Robinson
We'll see about the rest.

Didn't know if I had missed a development with Hightower. There's no reason to assume that he'll be ready for the start of the season, and even if he's healthy it's not a sure thing that he's coming back to the skins (maybe a 75-80% chance). I wouldn't count that big a question mark as real depth. And even if you want to count him, that's only 5 roster-worthy backs. Each of the last 3 years we've kept 5 backs on the final 53.
Since Chris Samuels, on the first day of the draft:
O-Line: 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D-Line: 0
WR: 4
O-Line: 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D-Line: 0
WR: 4

I think these make it
RGIII
Cousins
LeRibeus
Robinson (Stud)
Gettis (Erik Cook is gone IMO)
Crawford (Good physical, playmaking corner--could push Barnes or Westbrook out)
Compton (Backup RT)
Minnifield (UFA)
I don't think this staff is averse to letting a guy like Hurt, Smith, Polymbus or Cook go if these guys can beat them. We might not have a blue chip line, but we're developing competition among some very scrappy blue collar players.
Monty is cemented at Center. IDK why so many think Kory is a threat to him. Kory is undersized for Center and coming off of reconstructive surgery. And, we just gave Monty a new deal. He's our center. If anything Kory is at risk of not starting. I would not be surprised to see someone other than Kory start at LG--not a knock on him, but I am not sure he's 100% by the start of the season.

I would like the following to make it:
RGIII
LeRibeus
Cousins
Robinson
Gettis
Morris
Compton
Minnifield
Bernstine
I suspect that we won't actually see all three linemen make it - maybe Compton will end up on the PS, together with Gettis. Morris could end up being a disappointment and getting cut.
All wild speculation though, good fun though it is

Aw man u crazy! I say sneak him onto the practice squad after he clears waivers... and groom him to NFL speed. Then he can back up Kirk cousins the future of the Redskins and franchise qb for the next decade.
I feel dumber for just joking about that isht dang....

I am liking the Morris pick myself. I like the style. If he can make the team I will feel much better about things. Helu was wearing down, bang up or what ever you want to call it.
