Ten burning questions as NFL teams begin opening their training camps this week:
3) How will Terrell Owens' act play in Philadelphia?
The fans won't be as patient with him as they were in San Francisco, and his friendship with Donovan McNabb will be tested. Remember this: As good a player as McNabb is, he does not rank among the top 20 in accuracy among active quarterbacks. Sooner or later, probably sooner, Owens will come back to the huddle or the bench in that familiar pose, waving his arms in the air, and coach Andy Reid will have to put out a fire.
4) What to make of all the quarterback shuffling that took place in the offseason?
More than a dozen quarterbacks changed teams since last year, but only two of them go to training camp assured of starting jobs (Jeff Garcia in Cleveland and Mark Brunell in Washington). That means a lot of coaches will have experienced options if they don't like the way their quarterback is playing.
5) When will the honeymoon end in Washington?
People who think they know say that owner Dan Snyder won't interfere with coach Joe Gibbs because he respects Gibbs, unlike the Redskins' four previous coaches in the last four years. This much is sure: The fans won't allow Snyder to mess with an icon like Gibbs. Still, Gibbs' success is far from assured, because he returns to an organization that is a shadow of the one he left. Among other things, he used to have Bobby Beathard and Charley Casserly finding players for him. Now he has Vinny Cerrato.

Who ever said that Brunell was assured a starting job?

Chad
Just the media. I actually believe Gibbs when he says the best pre-season performer will start.

This is important on you Skins turn around, you need a good GM to not only bring in STARERS, but good depth all around Espcially on the O-line and D-line. Vinny wont cut it, tell then Coach Gibbs will have a hard time.

vinny isn't that bad at choosing talent. it sure wasn't spurriers idea to go after the jetskins. he does the job of finding talent. i'm not calling him a beathard or casserly, but he gets the job done. maybe with a coach that can identify needs, he'll do even better.

yeah isn't this the same guy that basically anointed Chad Hutchison the QB of the future for the Boys only to see him get released, Jones is no better then Synder, the thing that has helped Jones be successful is his HC he's had over the years, Barry Switzer wasn't a good HC at all, he inherited a great team from JJ, JJ and Tuna are what has made Jerry Jones imho, just like this team has had the talent for years imho, we haven't had the HC, now that all is changed ith Gibbs return.
If a GM's job is to bring in talent and depth then you have to admit that Cerrato has done that. The Redskins are one of the most talented teams in the league.
I don't really like Cerrato. I am still pissed at Snyder for driving Casserly out of town. But Cerrato somehow gets the job done, without the benefit of a full draft like most teams have.
Vinny has done a great job of getting talent into the clubhouse, but do we end up paying too much for it considering our cap numbers? The draft is a cheaper way of obtaining quality starters.

WOW I hope you dont choke on Synders futility to be like Jones. Lets See Jones 3 superbowls to Synders 0. That my book says alot.

Gee, it seems to me that Jones was owner for about 5 years before his first SB win. That's about the same timing of Snyder right now. And even though we have not had great years, we were NEVER as pathetic as the Cowboys 1-15 season during that stretch.
I am in a state of ecstasy! Never mind that nonsense about euphoria and so on. It is sheer, unadulterated, uncompromising ecstasy!
Danny could instantly earn the respect of fans everywhere if he would only kick Jerry in the nads during the pre-game of our MNF matchup. He should at least bitch-slap face-lift boy, before the 'Skins do the same on the field during the game.

LOL yeah right Ole Danny boy.....VS Jerry Jones.
Danny was the guy in school that got pushed around, Jerry Jones was the kinda guy that did the pushing. Danny worships the ground Jerry walks on.

Got me! And I rarely make that mistake. I was just in such a hurry to get my Quayle joke in that I didn't proofread my post.
