He's a young, ball hawking Safety whose missed time due to injury and violation of the substance abuse policy. He's healthy now. Let's hope he's clean.

cuz if weed, booooooooooo @ nfl.
Weed. Which means him, Williams & Davis will be breaking out Billy Bong Thronton this year. Hopefully not. In the meantime, here's Tanard: He's got 10 picks since 2007 which isn't bad considering how much time he's missed.

They use to call him Tanard "I cant stop smoking pot" Jackson in Tampa.
He says his shoulder is 100%, but the Bucs say he was released because of a failed physical.
He's been suspended for four games and for a year so the next puff is a ban for life

He was a surprise cut by the Bucs and was only unemployed for four days, It's a one year deal, probably for the vet min. just like the M. Williams and L. Torrence deals

I'll go ahead and say we have improved our Safety position.
Brandon Merriweather - Solid SS who can hit & Cover. Been to Pro Bowl
Madeiu Williams - Solid FS - Solid is all
Tanard Jackson - Potential Pro Bowl Caliber S who can play FS
DeJon Gomes - Emerging Talent
Cedric Griffin - Corner who can play FS
Doughty - Solid emergency guy, like only play him if everyone but him as the flu.
Landry is a potential All Pro, but the key word is potential. Atogwe was inconsistent and injury plagued, at his age, he's likely on the descend. In a perfect world, Laron would have been healthy and balling, but with the cards dealt, I like the moves we made to solidify this position without jumping at the to names.
*callin my herb guy*...
caller- hello?
me- sup?
caller- s**t, wus good?
me- man i got some bizness for yuh
caller- oh yea, sup?

me- apparently the staff doesn't care anymore because this new guy is real good. his name is tanard jackson
caller- Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, yea man, he's been a client of mine for a while.. he has shoulder issues so his use is really ok
Getting this deal done would really set the tone for the draft. I think that the front office has done a nice job going out and addressing holes (esp. in the secondary) and have brought in an number of guys to compete for spots in camp.
Now they'll be able to target some linemen and have a little leeway to maybe grab one or two "best available" guys in a few rounds.
I'm excited to see the final 53 when all is said and done.
Well, seems like we have brought in a bunch of secondary personnel......as I thought this was one of the needs that our team had, wonder how this alters the perspective of our draft as many though that secondary would garner some attention at that time. Looks like OL and ILB....then, as 44diesel noted, can have an eye toward best player available.....maybe another TE, maybe RB? Some positions that I thought we would not look at may be on the FO agenda after all.
What I like BEST about all this is it actually seems like the FO has a GAME PLAN, and are implementing it. Even though we got the high, hard one from the NFL and Mara, we are still filling in our holes, making trades that make sense, not horribly overpaying for talent. After far too many seasons of trading draft picks and overpaying for over-the-hill talent, nice to see some positive moves for the past couple of off-seasons.
A winning effort begins with preparation.
Failures are expected by losers, ignored by winners.
