Goodell still wants to hurt us...

Post by Gibbs4Life »

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/foo ... _blog.html

Apparently, Goodell is making a point to say that 'investigations' of our team's tenure under Gregg Williams is still open, and therefore potential penalties could be dealt out.

I once had a boss that hated me, did every single thing they could get me fired, this reminds me of that, its like Mara from NY has two championships so he gets to wag Goodell into doing serious damage to his rivals.

Goodell is ruining football and my beloved Redskins, I wish I knew how to fight this but we can't, we are at the mercy of this loser president of the NFL.

i have been and remain extremely nervous that the NFL is going to try and screw us into oblivion by retalliating under the guise of punishment over the bounty issue, and strip us of at least one of the draft picks involved in the trade for our #2 overall pick. if the NFL ruins this trade and we end up not getting Griffin (or Luck), i'm not sure anything short of an actual mob with torches and pitchforks will satisfy me. i will be so mad i don't even know if i'll ever be able to watch the NFL again.

does anybody know whether those picks are now officially the Rams' and the trade can not be revoked no matter what? i hope so... even if they penalize us they still wouldn't take away our #2 overall pick, i'd think-- the Saints only lost two 2nd rounders after all...

The NFL is NOT taking away draft picks that have been traded to the Rams

THAT IS NOT HAPPENING

WHY?

Why would the NFL punish the Rams for something the Redskins did?

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

yeah... they probably can't touch it now, and it would be beyond shocking if they went after our top draft pick (especially after only docking the Saints two 2nd-rounders)... i guess we're safe. whatever else happens, we will survive as long as we get RGIII!

This is because he knows he's about to get royally embarrassed on the Salary cap issue. It's a not so veiled attemp to warn the Skins to drop the issue. I would hope the special arbitrator, would nip this in the bud.

Without even bothering to look this up, I wonder if action taken under the guise of bounty punishment that is really retaliation for the salary cap suit could be actionable under the whistleblower statutes. My memory is that it only applies to employer/employee relationships, so probably not applicable. Curious whether that area of the law falls into anyone's wheel house.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

It's posturing because the Senate is about to stick it's nose in... they have to be making the correct noises to keep the pompous political opportunists of the upper house happy.

This guy is such a douche. Seriously, just a week ago the NFL said that the Redskins were in the clear. Now a day after we challenge the salary cap penalty, we're still under investigation? Give me a freaking break.

Can THIS staff be punished for something that happened under someone else's watch? Even most the players are different.. its my understanding that they are still interviewing the redskins staff and players that were around back then to solidify the case vs Williams and see if he should even be available for review after this season, and not next if at all. WE are cleared but THE investigation is on going. Regardless there isn't much to.worry about imo. Take our third but you'll be giving us the gnats first and third anyway so bollucks to the mish

The likelihood is that any players who participated are at risk... I'm thinking that London, Zo, Doughty and Goldston are about it from that era... Laron might be prime... but that's the Jets problem now.

Sounds like they'll have an interesting season. Don't think the New York papers are gonna be too hard pressed to find things to write about. :-k

Nice Facebook page, I just fired off a nice little salvo in the Commish's direction.

And Just because I'm proud of the thrashing I just administered... here is a copy for your enjoyment.

"I didn't have beef with him until the absolute farce that is the striping of salary cap from the skin' and cowboys. What a joke. Punish 2 teams for threatening "competitive balance" when multiple teams restructured contracts (hello julius peppers) AND multiple teams spent WELL under the "NON" cap to the point of threatening competitive balance. Then punishing those teams for NOT COLLUDING with the other owners to keep salaries down with some insane "back room gentleman's agreement" is in my opinion criminal. want some toast with that egg all over your dictator ish' face commish?

P.S. I probably hurt your feelings, but I'm sure there will be a rule to curtail that soon right?
