Compensatory draft picks

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Compensatory draft picks

Post by SkinsJock »

Looks like we missed out this year
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Compensatory picks are 100% pure BS and it's beyond inexplicable that they weren't abolished in the recent re-hashing of the CBA. Beyond whatever asinine system is used to calculate how they should be awarded, they are contrary to the entire premise of the parity the league holds so precious; every team has every opportunity, within their management of the salary cap (if it exists that year, haha), to re-sign their own free agents or lock them up before their contracts expire. If they don't, it is THEIR DECISION. They COULD have retained them but didn't. they don't deserve some magic extra draft pick in return. It makes absolutely no sense at all and in fact creates imbalance.
