Luck vs. RGIII

Post by markshark84 »

With all this talk about RGIII's combine performance, there is talk of RGIII being ranked above Andrew Luck. With that said, which QB would you like to see the Skins land with the second pick?

BTW - The reverse poll exists in "Around the League." I want the Colts to draft ...

It's 15-5 for Colts drafting Luck, i.e., we get Grif. It's actually 16-4 cuz someone got confused.

I voted RGIII

Everything I saw during his pro day screams perfect fit for this offense and for the DC area.

Merrill Hoge said he would pick RGIII over Luck.....said basically everything but decision making favored RGIII.

I would be a bit depressed if Dolts took RGIII vice Luck....hopefully Irsay is sold on Luck.....

You got that right. How awesome did his bootleg action look? Good golly miss molly.

As great a pick as Luck would be RGIII is the man for the DC area.

RGIII but hey if we end up with Luck that is great in itself. Either one. From what I hear, Luck is better at reading defenses and more prepared for the pros. I also hear that Luck is very fast himself. Either way we get an excellent QB.

I love the debate itself...If you ANY of you were told that you could get Luck before this past season started you would have been beside yourselves and now we are actually hoping we dont get STUCK with Luck haha( I know most have said they would be happy with either but it's still funny to read)

I for one have also drank the RG3 koolaid BUT I am extactic either way that we are getting him or Luck.. Never in my wildest dreams did I envision us being in this position after where we finished the season.. HAIL

I voted RGIII but I'd love for the Colts to draft him and he refuse to play for them... The Skins could draft Luck and trade him to the Colts for RGIII and their 2 round pick or next year's 1st :D

Stranger things have happened . . .

But RGIII isn't a pouter, which unfortunately means that situation wouldn't work. (No offense, Eli.)

^This.

RGIII is going to go to whichever team drafts him. There is no Elway or Eli primadona in him. He is going to smile, work his tail off, and become the best NFL quarterback he can be, no matter where he goes.

... and, Bru, if Eli can't handle the truth, well... the response is smeared all over Smack.

Andrew Luck and RG3 are both going to be really good NFL QBs

No matter which QB the Redskins draft, he will end up being the better QB after a few years
we have a franchise that is on the rise - the Colts have a loooong way to go

I really hope we get RG3 .... however .... Andrew Luck would make this franchise better sooner
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The winning option was not included in this Poll. The RIGHT answer is:

EITHER.

Voted for Luck, though.

If you didnt catch RG3's pro day, I suggest you check it out and then vote. The guy looks unbelievable and I would take him over luck anyday of the week. It confirmed my man crush on him and cant wait to see him in a skins uniform. I garuntee the guy will win more superbowls than the Mannings. I just hope the Colts arent thinking him instead of Luck now cause that would crush me. Baylors coach said if the skins are lucky enough to draft RG3, itll be the best thing that has ever happen to that franchise. WoW

The thing is that pro days generally don't mean much. Peyton Manning had a horrible pro day. All NFL QBs should be able to make throws without pressure or wearing pads.

That said, if it were my money, franchise, and reputation at stake, I would take Luck.

i want rg3 because he has dreads.. not because of his raw talent, quick speed, and great decision making.

if Luck had the cali surfer hair look, i'd want him instead.. but not because of his raw talent, and great decision making.

Wow I am really blown away by how many people would rather draft RGIII over Luck. If the question was posed back in December, I wonder if the results would have been the same? I don't remember many "suck for griff" campaigns throughout the 2011 season... :)

I am hyped for RGIII. If I had to make the pick though, I have to admit I would take Luck. He looks physically sturdier to me, so less likely to be injured. And just seems closer to a "sure thing" than RGIII does at this point in time. I'm completely splitting hairs here though and will be happy with either QB.

Well if his Pro day for a potential skins franchise QB didnt get you fired up after a blockbuster trade then i dont know what would. The guy reconfirmed his athlectism and big arm. His under center snaps looked great and roll outs were just awesome. The ball just jumps out on passing. The game tape shows pressure and pads, pro days show work from under center and rapport he has with his team mates. The dude is just an all around stud with very high character. Im taking RG3 for my redskins franchise and well see who has the better career.

Actually, it was whiff for Griff, and CounterTrey was the originator.
