Word is, he's going to run his 40 while eating a PB&J.

He and Luck both know that they will go 1 and 2... frankly, it's nothing but class that both are going to be doing what they can to help up the stock of their team mates. That's the only reason for either to do this.

I think Irsay is thinking of Manning's replacement... that being someone with a skill set like Manning's. That would be Luck. RGIII has huge upside... but it's a very different game. Luck is tailor made for the game Irsay likes... RGIII is taylor made for the game MS plays. That said, there won't be a problem either way.

Luck clearly could run MS's game plans with the potential to be every bit as good as Elway... He may not be RG in his athleticism... but he is still at the top tier for a quarterback.

On the other hand, if Irsay takes RGIII, he would have to dramatically shift the type of offense he is asking his coaching staff to assemble, in order to maximize his potential.

I don't see Irsay making that leap.

That's exactly what I've been thinking myself Trey....They will want to go with the more "safe" pick for them but at the same time if we had the number one overall pick I would see us taking Griffin just because he could electrify our franchise.

RGIII

Post by rskin72 »

The workout described on NFL network was a Baylor workout vice a specific individual workout (read RGIII). Of course, as a competitor it has been said that RGIII would prefer to be taken #1......but from what I have read and heard.....I believe the Colts will take Luck as the first pick I hope that both picks live up to expectation......and while I would not be unhappy with Luck as a Redskin....to be honest I really covet Superman.
A winning effort begins with preparation.
Failures are expected by losers, ignored by winners.

That's fine for us... but he'd like to be the first pick, so what you'd prefer really doesn't factor in. Hell, I'D prefer that... but then, it's not my contract.

So I guess this is how the FO prepares for pro days? Or What else is there to do in Waco?

http://deadspin.com/washington-redskins/

If true, I find it awesome that Griffin wanted no parts of Cleveland. Man, that's one city that is not my bucket list.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Agreed. After the season, Irsay hired Bruce Arians who was the Steelers O Coordinator for the last 5 years with Big Ben as his QB. More notable than that is Arians was Peyton Manning's QB coach for Manning's first three seasons. It appears picked his OC with because he knows he is drafting Luck.

Now that Manning is signed to another team, I expect the Luck contract negotiations to begin soon.

I Luck were to sign a pre-draft deal with the Colts would that allow us to begin pre-draft negotiations with Grif?

Possibly. The only team that can sign a deal is the one with the #1 pick... however, I don't know that there is a way to prevent the second team from "negotiating", as long as no deal is signed prior to the draft.

Just peeled off his shirt. Looks pretty fit! Huddling with teammates.

Loosening up with fades. About to throw a route tree.

He might be a little nervous. Strikes me as the kinda guy where nerves go away in a GAME.

Under center. 5 step drops. Drilling it. Short digs. Good.

Slide in pocket then throw. Good.

Check downs. Good.

Jump pass on blitz. Good.

14-15. All on target in stride with 1 drop. Ball exploding off his hand on digs an outs.

Throwing on run now between drills.

OMG - bootlegs look awesome.

Straight play action. Very accurate so far. One ball on ground so far - a drop.

Footwork drills with WR screen. Great feet.

Shanny biting nails!! Danny just cracked a mini-smile.

7-step, slide, deep crosses. Money.

He throws frozen ropes.

I need a different job.

Beautiful throws to Ganaway off play-action. In stride. No hiccups. All in stride.

Very tight spirals. Super accurate. 31-32 with a drop so far.

Throwing great off wrong foot while rolling left off boot-leg and leaping.

Here come some deep balls?

His teammates are diggni' this.

Nice corner route. Ball truly exploding off his hand. Hitting guys on quick outs right at the sideline. Have not seen a receiver have to hesitate once.

Now showing touch on deep crosses.

His movement behind the line of scrimmage is very quick. Gets to the edge instantly on bootlegs. His 5 step drop is pobably as deep as a lot of 7 steps.

He finally made a guy reach back.

BTW - WR Kendall Wright topped out at 4.43.

Skinny post - schweet.

Another drop on a great pass on a seam route.

Running huddles.

Just overthrew Wright on a deep ball.

16-17 on passes of 20+ so far with that one overthrow.

Nice deep sideline throw.

Another nice deep ball.

Missed an out off play action bootleg. Hit his fingertips.

OK. Killer workout. He helped himself but more important, his teammates.

Was able to catch the workout. I was giddy watching the guy move and throw. His footwork is unbelievable. Great accuracy. Sweet touch on the crossing routes and deep balls.

We are going to love RGIII in B&G.

This sounds great.

Was he wearing pads?
