Reed Doughty has managed to hang onto an active position at safety with 3 different coaching staffs now. Yet younglings, who have undoubtedly played at a high level in the NFL dare to come in here, and call him a bum. Somehow, though, when others disappear, he is there, plugging a hole.

Yet, he's a bum...
Comments like this are disgusting. I'd rather have Landry or Merriweather too... but when they are serving suspensions for cheap hits, or out because they refused to have their fragile Achilles repaired... guess who will still be there? Yeah, all he does is work his ass off, and study, and play the position the best he possibly can... no accolades are going to come his way. He's just going to work... BTW... you do realize that this "bum" does all this with a severe hearing loss, right?

Not the most talented player on the team... absolutely. Hardest working? Yes.
Bum?

Albert Haynesworth was a bum.

Reed Doughty?????
Whatever...

Thanks for this. Couldn't have said it better

Figured that would happen... the Chargers were suddenly desperate for a receiver...

We'll have to be satisfied that he will never win jack...

Eddie Royal was an ass anyways. I knew a girl that went to high school with him (I like them young) and she said he had the biggest ego in the world. She was actually really hot, need to find that number....

Probably not. But he'll get to live in San Diego and get paid lots of money. Not a hard choice.

Got to have guys like Reed on your team. As for Landry I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him stay healthy, pro bowl worthy and finally be the guy we wanted him to be on another team.

I think Doughty is cool, I live on Colorado's front range just like him :-)

Still, he's not exactly the guy you want starting at SS. Great guy to have around for depth. Can play strong or free, but we need an upgrade because right now he's our starting SS. (Meriweather is a free safety who is best in centerfield, not in the box.)

Now that the feverish part of Free Agency is over, please feel free to start a new thread (but only one) each time the Redskins sign a new free agent. There's no longer any need to keep signings contained to one gigantic thread.

Thank you.

WR - PIERRE GARCON (IND) 5-yr, $42.5M, roughly $21.5M guaranteed
WR - JOSH MORGAN (SF) - 5 - yr, up to $12m $7.5m guaranteed
DE - ADAM CARRIKER (WAS) 4-yr, $20m, 7 guaranteed
WR - Eddie Royal (Den)
I had confliciting reports that we had got Royal, what happened?I know he signed with another team,so,did we drop the ball on him?
I had reports that the skins had signed Royal, then,I hear that he signed with another team, did we drop the ball,or, was it,that we couldnt match their offer,Hail.

They made him a offer but weren't / couldn't get into a bidding war with Balt. and SD. They let him go to the highest bidder..... SD

Thanks for posting that man I didn't realize that Reed had a severe hearing problem. I myself can only hear 10% in my right and 25% in my left and I can't imagine how difficult it can be for Reed especially having to hear last second audibles. I have a lot of respect for Reed and I think he's perfect for our team as a second string guy who can fill in both safety positions if needed and is a beast on STs. Reed is the type of teammate that we need he's one of those glue guys that is great in the locker room and knows his role on the team.

We don't need Eddie Royal this year, unless we plan on cutting Moss. We can't fill every hole in 1 year. So, get a friggin RT and LG.

Agreed!
This is the MINIMUM they SHOULD do. I also ask for no more but these two positions are very important. Somehow, I feel that they are still looking at CB.

I cross my fingers so that at least one of those positions can be filled in the Draft but I have my doubts. I suspect we will get some promising players but no starters.

It kind of sounds like they were looking at Eddie Royal as a possible replacement for Brandon Banks more than Moss. Am I wrong on that?
