Redskins bring in the kids on offense The Redskins are likely to start an offense next season that has no players over the age of 30.
Here is a projected starting lineup with ages as of opening day:
WR Pierre Garçon, 26 WR Leonard Hankerson, 23 TE Fred Davis, 26 RB Roy Helu, 24 FB Darrel Young, 25 QB Robert Griffin III, 22 LT Trent Williams, 24 LG Kory Lichtensteiger, 27 C Will Montgomery, 29 RG Chris Chester, 29 RT Willie Smith, 25 Average age=25.5 years
It is possible that Jabar Gaffney, 31, could start at wide receiver and Jammal Brown, 30, will start at right tackle. Still, that would be one of the youngest units that the team has fielded in quite some time.

Sounds like Al Davis is running the show in DC, with all the speed we are accumulating.
Don't tell that to Shanahan!
Anyway, unlike the late Mr. Davis we don't intend to run these guys down field and throw the long bomb every play. We plan to run these guys over the middle for high YAC.
"Guess [Ryan Kerrigan] really does have a good motor. And is relentless. And never quits on a play. And just keeps coming. And probably eats Wheaties and drinks Apple Pie smoothies and shaves with Valvoline." -Dan Steinberg DC Sports Bog
Yep, certainly skewing younger....which does not bode well for some revered veterans like Moss and Fletcher. Need to keep some older leadership around....oh, who can still play, BTW.
Last season I was struck by the team speed of a couple of teams that visited FEDEX.....Eagles, 49er's......while speed alone doesn't win games, when combined with good coaching, game planning, and a strong and accurate passer can be lethal.....
While next year still may be rough....especially first half as team really learns how to play together with all these new pieces....I definitely look forward to when this talent gels.....think our offense will no longer be a laughingstock in the NFC.....

Hankerson is not a starter. Roy Helu I don't think is a starter, either. He's better as a change of pace guy. And Willie Smith won't start either.
The center is below average, btw. It will be older than what you see there.
But I will concede this: when you are a bad team like the redskins you would prefer to be younger. its just too bad they dont have any high draft picks to actually get GOOD players....not just YOUNG players.

The last article I read on the matter said that the center, Montgomery, was the only Redskins offensive lineman rated as high as average for the league.
Hog Haven, I believe...sometimes toward the beginning of the season.

not many here are thinking the O line is really good .... BUT
it is getting better and will surely be helped by both the new additions ... AND ... RGIII
this re-build is as DarthMonk points to ... younger and faster
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
dont understand this fascination amongst redskin fans with hankerson. They dont realize that he's "just a guy" in this league and every single team in the league has a leonard hankerson somewhere on their roster. you dont even know if he's healthy to play.
* J. Brown is your starting RT. He's in his 30s
* I still think S. Moss is the best WR you got after Garcon....he's in his mid 30s.
* There's no guarantee that the scat back Helu starts over a veteran they end up bringing in at some point, including Hightower.
and finally - younger and younger doesnt neccessarily equal better and better. This is the Redskins, afterall.
