with what we've seen recently from the league office, he might be right![]()
anyone else think the NFL is going to veto this trade because it helps the Redskins too much
No one thinks the NFL would step in. Several beat writers indicated that they were waiting on confirmation that the deal was still going forward since the Skins agreed to it before they knew that they were getting docked $36 million.
Suck and Luck

thanks for clarifying
NOTHING the stupid NFL did would surprise me tho

as far as the salary cap space is concerned - it's a bad hit and the timing sucks .. BUT
Even AFTER the BS 'penalty" the Redskins still have a lot more room UNDER the salary cap than we normally do

this FO has it's work cut out to try and maximize the space anyway
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Looks like the relationship with Fisher is what got this done after all. Never would have thunk it.
Browns president Mike Holmgren insists his offer to the Rams for the No. 2 overall pick was "every bit the offer that was chosen."
Citing the tight-knit relationship between Rams coach Jeff Fisher and Redskins coach Mike Shanahan, Holmgren explained, "Not sure any offer we made was going to be quite good enough. ... rest assured we were aggressively involved in that." Holmgren sounded more committed to Colt McCoy on Thursday, and acknowledged he will "discourage" GM Tom Heckert from trading down from No. 4 overall.

This was the dumbest move the Redskins have made in the 30 years I have been a fan. It is stupid to trade so much for one guy -- a guy who might not be as good as everyone hopes, a guy who might get injured on opening day.
So much for patience and sticking with a long term strategy.
In addition to all the other pressure our new pick would have faced, he will now have the additional pressure of knowing that we traded so much for him.
He better not make any mistakes!
Yikes. Woe is me.
Hey Snyder, if you are reading this board, here's the proof you should have hired me to run the FO!

Snoutster:
I thought this was gonna be one of those joke threads (I was thinking about making one). Well done. I remember being worried but letting hope allowing me to jump on board. I'm definitely a trade down or use your pick on the BPA kinda guy. Looks like a worse disaster than (almost) any of us could have imagined.
With you as GM and me as HC, we could go a long way!
Hog Bowl III, V, X Champion (2011, 2013, 2018)
Hognostication Champion (2011, 2013, 2016)
Hognostibowl XII Champion (2017, 2018)
Scalp 'em, Swamp 'em,
We will take 'em big score!
Read 'em, Weep 'em Touchdown,
We want heap more!

^^ what a joke that would be - Snout as GM and the Darth man as HC ....
THEN AGAIN - in 2012 we had Mike as the HC and Bruce as the GM ... they had the #6 pick which could be ours in 2015 ....
OK - Jay Gruden leaves because he realizes he's been had by Snyder and Allen with the RG3 total disaster - of their making, not his
AND
Dan Snyder fires Bruce Allen because he needs a scapegoat for the RG3 fiasco ... ".. he made me do it ..."
so now we have Snout and Darth Monk as GM and HC and Dan is convincing them he can make a trade for the #1 pick
OMG - it's got to happen - can't wait - we'd be favorites for years
how crazy is that - not as crazy as what RG3 is going through right now - talk about getting screwed
