Wow. New ownership has already brought with it good luck from the capitals. Maybe this is the beginning of a whole new era for DC area sports? God I hope so.

Definitely get Wall.. move G.A. to his proper 2 spot.. hopefully we can make a play for Amare or Bosch.. maybe both since we have $$$ to spend.

Ummmm maybe its, because the "other" sports franchises seem to be operating in a more professional manner?

hmmm someone wants to be a negative nelly. I can see good things happening in DC area sports teams even if, right now, its only on paper.

Right now the Wiz pick at #4. This guy makes it to us in a lot of mocks.

By Paul Banks

Harisson Barnes, Small Forward, 6' 8", 210#, Sophomore, UNC

Strengths:
Sweet outside stroke
Pull-up jump shot
Creates his own shot
Using ball fakes to create space on jumpers
Athleticism
Great body control when finishing around the rim
Outstanding in transition
Backs down smaller defenders
Outstanding work ethic
High character

Weaknesses:
Ball-handling
Too often settles for jump shot
Shot selection
Need to get stronger
Aggressiveness on the glass

Summary: Despite struggling with the high expectations cast upon him before he even stepped onto the floor as a Tar Heel, Barnes lived up to his potential near the end of the season. He has a complete all-around game on the offensive end, and if he picks up where he left off during his sophomore season, he has a real chance of being the top overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Player Comparison: Tracy McGrady. Think T-Mac early in his career; not the washed-up, injury-riddled version we have seen the past couple of years. Barnes has an offensive game similar to McGrady, though McGrady was more skilled than Barnes with the ball in his hands. Barnes can create his own shots, get to the basket and use his size to back down opponents. He is still loaded with potential and is still trying to become a true threat from the perimeter just like McGrady in his early NBA days.

Only problem Darth, Wall is gonna be gone as soon as his contract is up buddy. There's no way he'll want to stay here, even if we have the top picks every year while he's here... that youngster is GHOST!

I like what just happened. Wish the Wiz were still called the Bullets, though.

Anyway, nice to get a local who is seemingly so solid.

Otto Porter, SF

PLAYER ANALYSIS
Porter's stock is so high in part because Georgetown lost a lot of help due to injuries last season, yet Porter carried the team. Normally when a player is expected to do more his efficiency goes down. That's natural. Porter's overall numbers only improved. He's a rare modern case: an American player with an NBA future despite not playing AAU basketball.

PLAYER STRENGTHS
Good decision maker in both passing and shooting. Very intelligent player who can cut to the basket, create his own shot in certain scenarios and be effective without the ball. The 7'2" wingspan will tease many a general manager (Porter is 6-9). Defensively, he's capable and ready for the NBA right now.

PLAYER WEAKNESSES
Not a tremendous athlete, and he's not tailor-made for NBA offenses in the sense that he played in Georgetown's motion system. The Hoyas don't operate a lot of pick-and-roll or high-screen action, unlike the pros. Needs a little more muscle and a little more quickness.
