Get Ready!!!

Post by northcarolinaredskin »

Hopefully all of yall skins fans are as excited as I am. Robert Griffin is going to be a Redskin we are going to move in the right direction. Shanallen cannot turn this down. I see our O looking above average this year believe it or not as long as we can focus on the O-line during FA as well as signing a good reciever...or two. We have 40M to spend though so this is not out of the question.

QB - Griffin
RB - Helu/Royster
FB - Young
WR - Moss/Hankerson/Gaffney
TE - Davis/Cooley

There is pass catching talent there and people who have room to gain. I see Hankerson as the wild card, if he can blossom to where his talent will go then he could be an elite NFL reciever, yes I said it ELITE.

Although it may be far fetched I see a great opportunity to sign a wild card FA in Dwayne Bowe. If we added Griffin as well as Bower I think you are looing at a playoff caliber offense. Be easy on me if you think im wrong hahah

ESPN 980 is announcing that The Redskins are about to announce a "blockbuster deal"

I KNOW - there's a lot of BS out there right now
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

This sir is the epitome of an off-season thread. For the past 3-4 years, I refused to dream, hope, wish, lol... I can't help it this year, I cannot stay level-headed. I will dream and I am afraid of being let down. LOL

However, I will drink the kool-aid. And I will project the Redskins offense for this upcoming season.

QB -
Griffin
Rex
The other dude who's name I can't think of at the moment.

RB -
Hightower - starts if healthy, he'll show why he should be the starter once the passing game starts to spread the defense out.
Helu
Royster

FB -
Young
Sellers

WR -
Dwayne Bowe - I think we're going to get this dude.
Gaffney - Had a banner year for himself. Wouldn't be shocked to see Hankerson supplant him 3/4 of the way through the season.
Moss- Retains his slot position to start the season. He MUST perform. If not, look to see Hankerson take over who'd be a mis-match for typically small nickelbacks.

TE -
Cooley - reclaims starting position but will be pushed by davis.
Davis - Will see ample time on the field. TE's are a QB's best friend. We have two great TE's.

At the conclusion of the season. Griffin, Hightower, Young, Bowe, Hankerson, Davis are the starters.

The Redskins will be in the playoffs this year EVEN if they do not sign Griffin

This franchise has a lot of good young players that they will add to

I'd love to get RGIII but this FO will continue to grow this franchise
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

No matter who the free agent QB and the drafted QB are, they will be joining a pretty good group of players

Peyton and Troy only won 1 game each their first year - MAINLY because the players there were not so good

we already have some good players - WE JUST NEED A BETTER QB THAN WE HAD LAST SEASON

Who said it was going to be RGIII? There is a possibility that the Colts take RGIII over Luck and Luck would fall to the holder of the Second draft pick.

You are exactly right

I also heard that the WP is saying that the bidding could get to be as high as 2 # 1 picks and a 2 this year and EVEN a 3 this year
ARE YOU KIDDING ME - THAT"S ONLY THE BEGINING

those people are STUPID
In order to trade up we are looking at 1, 2 and 3 in this draft and AT LEAST 1 in the next

If they're announcing a deal right now... Ok. Please educate me. Could they be trading for draft picks THIS EARLY?!

I'm sorry Chris - I think that it's just a case of hyping the situation

I think they could trade the pick but in all honesty the Rams want to make the best deal possible and I think they'll wait to maximize the trade value

I do think that a lot of fans and the media are hoping we do NOT give up the top 3 opicks in this draft and the top pick in next year's draft

I'm hoping they give up whatever it takes - this kid is that special

AGAIN - I think there are 2 great values to this deal - we bring in more great players that are excited to be a part of this franchise AND

RGIII becomes a great QB - now this will take time, but how great will it be to have a great NFL player and having him be a QB

I'm with you man. It would kind of suck to give up those picks. We could sure use them. But this is as good a chance as we'll have to finally get a franchise QB.

Un-related to RGIII but to the point of adding Bowe in this trhead, I saw it mentioned on espn today that the Chiefs are likely to franchise Bowe. Carr will be allowed to leave.

Glad to see ya on board SJ!!
Kid is gonna be special and imo better then luck soon if not right out the gate. Hope we do what ever it takes.

A big deal now could be what exactly??
-can they make the trade to #2 NOW?
-FA starts in a week or two right?
-could it be a trade?
-could be resigning one of our own FA but that isn't really a "big move" right?

This could be true. I heard RG3 was spotted in Indianapolis this weekend...

I hope you are right SJ. I think he is worth it. What you said about him in some thread about him taking some time like a couple of years is realistic. I think he will still make an impact though even in his first year.

Knowing this front office and the direction they are going in, I will be most likely happy with any decision they choose to make.
