Juicing or not, that kind of bulk , when you're playing a position that requires speed, agility and flexibilty, youre going to get injured.

It makes cardio an issue as well, when you increase mass, your heart must supply blood to all of that. Your muscles may increase in size, your heart does not. It simply works harder to meet demand. Also, with his obviously low % of body fat, dehydration becomes a concern (cramping) its pretty easy to tear something when you get a sudden cramp. Ive done it myself and Im not a pro athlete. Its a direct relation to why recievers and D-backs get so many hamstring injuries. They generally have the least ability to retain water due to their physical make up.

I'm no expert, so this is the first I've heard most of this. How does muscular mass relate to injury in athletic activities?

I do know that the heart itself is a muscle that can and will increase in size to adapt to regular stress. The body may use more energy due to the extra muscle mass, but I don't think the heart is a weak link there.

On hamstring issues: I think our poor strength and conditioning staff is as much to blame for hamstring injuries as dehydration. A bad quad-hamstring imbalance can easily cause pulls and tears, and our staff isn't exactly top of the heap when it comes to keeping the players in shape and healthy.

If Landry's role is to be a hammer used closer to the line of scrimmage, then as long as he keeps his agility he should keep it up. (as long as there are no roids involved)

These guys are freaks of nature. Every time I see pics like these, I am thankful that I stopped playing the game at the college level. There's big guys and then there are guys like that. You've gotta really be an animal to deal with that.

NOT AT ALL

Landry's too good a player to b e bothered by a play

Hope he got bothered by this play.

That was the first play of the game where Laron was talking smack about putting Jackson to sleep...

It's easy to find footage of ALL players in the NFL that 'showcases' bad plays ..... as well as good plays

what's the point?

Landry is recognized by his peers and his coaches as being a really good SS - he is one player - he cannot do it all - NO player can

I'm not as good a student of the game but I'm glad that Landry's on this team - he's a lot better than most and he's here

I hope he stays - we are better off with him and I certainly would not want to play against a defense with him on it

THIS IS A TEAM GAME - Landry makes our defense better - end of story
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I couldn't agree more!

The guy is a monster, if we can get him fit it will be well worth it. If we can't, well it was worth a shot.

I have a bad feeling that he wont be here next season, and I'll be the most upset fan on here if that is the case.

If he does go I bet he ends up with a top team, the guy is held in high regard by other coaches around the league. And how many of our players can you say that about....? Only a few.

One thing he does bring to the team that I don't think any other player does as well as him is ENERGY and a mean streak. Our team as a whole is pretty decent, but it feels like we're the Wally Cleaver of the NFL. We need more scrappy, hard-nose players.

Landry has not reached his full potential - he can be the defensive captain if he applies himself to it

maybe a move to LB might be in the cards

Yeah, I totally agree. I'm not a small guy at 6'1" and 210 but, I met Laron at the airport 2 summers ago when he was reporting for camp. Reading his physical stats, you would'nt think he would be alot bigger than me. The comparrison in person was jarring.

Surprisingly, chill. I didnt take up alot of his time . I was leaving the coffee shop next to the news stand in the main terminal. He was checking out some magazines. I just wanted to let him know I recognized him and wished him good luck in the upcoming season. I said somthing about killing anything with a star on it ( that probably sounded stupid). Nobody seemed to be paying any attention to him. I expected someone waaaay more intense. He was really laid back and quiet. I never ask for autographs, a handshake is cool with me.
