LaRon Landry

Post by reo »

hey guys. I'm a Titans fan from titansreport.com and there's been some speculation due to us having Jerry Gray as our DC and us needing a safety that we might take a look at Landry.

I had a good friend of mine that use to post here a lot and was a big Redskins fan. He use to give me the heads up on any Redskins info I needed so I figured I'd see what you guys thought.

I originally heard Landry was horrible in coverage but then my friend said the year before last that it was mostly due to him playing out of position at FS but when he moved back to SS that he played much much better. Ignoring injury concerns for the moment, what do you guys think? Is he just a straight up box safety that is horrible in coverage or is he just not suited to play deep center 24/7 but is still decent in coverage? A poster on my board said he struggles in coverage against pedestrian WRs and i really can't counter it b/c I honestly don't know.

Well he's not perfect by any means, but what he brings when he's healthy far outweighs the bad.

I'm a big fan of his and I really hope he comes back to us next year and is fully fit.

He's a SS with the emphasis on strong. Big hitter, leads by example, I get the impression the rest of the team like to have him in the trenches with them.

A leader of the secondary and if he stays fit a real fans favourite. He's better in coverage than people think, but it's not his strong suit.

I can't see him proving his fitness anytime soon, so if he's not released then a one year deal with bonuses loaded into games played in the probable outcome.

Then, who knows.....?

Part of his problem is he looks to Take people out.

Sometimes he takes them out, out of bounds and get a costly penalty. He can cover just fine when he is a SS. He is extremely quick and strong. Some people think he is on roids because he is so massive with his frame. I think he is a health nut and wouldn't do that. Sometimes when he looks for the knock out he whiffs and gets burned. He has the potential to be the best. So no you can't have him he is ours.
