By done more with less this year? or his whole carrer? The Hogster wrote:Brady has done more with less. He's probably overall the best QB of them all. But, if this poll is about right now, I think Drew Brees was the best QB in the game this past year. The way he executes that offense is extremely impressive.

His whole career. The year he had Welker & Moss was the year he had the most weapons. He's played with Troy Brown's David Patten's etc and has still consistently elevated those around him.

You guys sure do bring that guy Redskins Fanatic up alot.
Brady is not a system Quarterback. If anything, he's the least "system" of the QBs. Bill Bellichick is notorious for altering his system to fit the talent. There was a time when Kevin Faulk had them in a run first offense, then they went spread, and now they're rolling with a Two Tight End based attack.

So I take it you picked Brees? Really what lacked was a freaking pass-rush! They only had 33 sacks?!The Hogster wrote:Drew Brees quite possibly could have won a second ring this year if his Defense didn't dissappear and let the Alex Smith lead 9ers look like the Joe Montana lead 9ers in the final 4 minutes.

The Patriots this year were Tom Brady. The D was a speed bump. Welker is good but his stats are because of Brady. And Brady's other reliable target was a tight end. Branch is like Rod Gardner now, Mr. 50/50. I can't seriously argue against Brees, he's great. But I still stick with Brady #1 if it's a one year decision. Now obviously I'd go with a younger guy if the question were who I wanted to build an O around.

Yeah. The answer to this question changes based on how it's asked. I picked Brees because he qualified the question with "right now."
Peyton Manning when healthy probably gets more votes than he has now because he does more at the Line, making audibles etc. Manning is probably most able to elevate a bad team because he's not only a once in a lifetime talent, but he's a great play caller and in-game manager.
Brees, Rogers, Brady all played so well this year, that the answers really come down to personal preference rather than anything that can be argued against.

I also side with Aaron Rodgers. Brees probably has to make quicker decisions than any of them and seems to do it quite well. His lack of height/length should be an issue but he somehow manages to make it not be one. I kind of see Rodgers as a more elusive version of Brady who can throw accurately on the move as well as anyone I've seen - kinda like RGIII.
Sorry, had to say it.
I could roll with any of these 3 but right now I say it's AR.

I couldnt agree more. the only reason that Brady has been to the superbowl is bc of the people around him. Look at the colts this year with out manning. Manning is the best qb in the league.

You have your right to your opinion. Just saying though Brady has pretty much always been surrounded by talent and has a genius coach in Bellicheck. During his SuperBowl years he also had a formidable defense by his side. Seymour, Wilfork, Moss, Welker, Seau, Ty Law, Mcginest, Harrison, Bruschi, Asante Samuel etc...
There is no doubt Brady is great and one of the greatest. Just saying he has always had talent around him. I basically consider Brady Darth Vader and Bellicheck is the Emperor. I guess you can say Eli is Luke Skywalker. Ha! No disrespect to the late Al Davis.
Seriously though you put Peyton Manning on the Patriots in the prime years and they win five in a row.
Peyton Manning gets injured and now the Colts have the 1st pick. Brady gets injured and the Patriots still won 11 games. Just saying.
Anyhow my vote is Peyton Manning when healthy. Since hes injured I go with Rogers. Brees is darn good however he just isnt as physically gifted as Rogers. When you have two players who are equally skilled I choose the guy who is the superior athlete. All though Brees has a ton of heart and is a champion as well.
Rogers is the man for the next decade or so. However I have never seen a QB as skilled as Manning is. Not even Brady. Just imagine if Peyton Manning had Randy Moss in his prime to throw to?
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

If we were talking Greatest of All Time, I would rank Peyton Manning above them all.
The poll asked about right now--and right now Peyton's not healthy, so I didn't consider voting for him based on the wording of the Poll.
Right now, I think Brees deserves my vote. If I were to rank these guys based on All Time Greatness it would go:
1. Peyton Manning
2. Brady
3. Brees
4. Rodgers
While I appreciate what Rodgers is doing, Brees has done well with two franchises, and has been consistent enough to deserve a slight edge. Rodgers will overtake him as long as he keeps up his level of play and keeps winning.
SPIT HAPPENS!!

I'd agree in terms of pure QB skills, but in terms of just being a winner, I still think it's Brady. I think he gets underrated as a pure QB because more then any of them he makes the players around him so much better. Then people say he was lucky to have the players around him. He also has the Montana knack of finding ways to win. I really think this year when he didn't have the weapons and he had to score so many more points then in the past because the D was so bad and yet he goes to the Super Bowl for the fifth time shows what a winner he is in any scenario.
Super Bowl Record:
Brady: 3-2
Manning: 1-1.
Did Brady really have that much more a quality team around him? I don't think so.
Hail to the Redskins!
