Washington Redskins scouts have been really busy this season
Skins have been doing their due diligence this year when scouting, they have been following some small school guys pretty hard. They have been looking at guys like Adrian Hamilton hard, and Ryan Davis. Here is a list of guys that I speak too that have all had interviews with their scouts so far.
They have been scouting Marquette King, Punter of Fort Valley State who had a few huge punts this year, one for 80 against Bethune Cookman who blasted this punt, it was amazing, didn't not bounce, 80 yard missle in the air.
I have had the pleasure to write articles on all the guys that the team has been interested in so far from the small schools and thought I would give you guys a chance to read up on some of the guys, here are the articles I have wrote on all of them
Marquette King, P, Fort Valley State - 60 punts averaging 43.3 yards and the NCAA record for D-2 with an 80 yard missle
http://www.optimumsc...lley-state.html
Adrian Hamilton, DE, Prairie View A&M - 20.5 sacks led the SWAC and broke Robert Mathis record, true DE in 4-3
http://www.optimumsc...e-view-aam.html
Ryan Davis, DE, Bethune- Cookman - Led the MEAC in sacks and was named HBCU MVP for 2.5 sacks at the HBCU Bowl
http://www.optimumsc...ne-cookman.html
Other Small school articles
Rico Wallace, WR Shenandoah University - 6'3, 210 pound WR who can catch away from his body, Joe Jacoby says he is like Art Monk, Jacoby is his coach at Shenandoah
http://www.optimumscouting.com/scout-s- ... ndoah.html
Casey Therriault, QB Jackson State - Big Armed QB, who had to overcome a ton to get to this level.
http://www.optimumscouting.com/scout-s- ... state.html
Thomas Mayo, WR, Cal (PA) - D2 all time leading reciever
http://www.optimumscouting.com/draft/ar ... ia-pa.html
Stanley Porter DE & Charles Deas NT, Shaw University - Both were transfers to Shaw and both took the HBCU by storm this year.
http://www.optimumscouting.com/draft/ar ... -shaw.html
Ryan Steed CB, Furman - known as the second best CB coming out this draft from a small school behind Janoris Jenkins of North Alabama.
http://www.optimumscouting.com/draft/ar ... urman.html
Jared Green, WR, Southern - the son of HOF Darrell Green, this kid is a burner, he ran a 4.3 at the HBCU Bowl, a burner for real
http://www.optimumscouting.com/draft/ar ... thern.html
Gino Gradkowski, OG, Delaware - Bruce Gradkowski's kid brother, but is not a little man, a very good blue collar blocker.

I always like to see our scouts looking at small school guys -- there are some real diamonds in the rough out there.
Not too sure about that QB though. He didn't make grades to receive a scholly from MSU and then got into a bar fight and was thrown in jail. Intelligence and good decision-making are the cornerstones to being a good NFL QB. While I understand there may have been extenuating circumstances, he shouldn't have placed himself in that position in the first place -- that, in and of itself, is a decision right there.
There have been a good number of small school guys make it in the NFL -- after all our best player went to John Carroll.

RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Have you provided advice to the Skins or Bruce Allen or Mike Shanahan previously?Optimum Scouting is a third party scouting service that works with professional teams, leagues, agents, and others in the professional football area to aid in their prospect research and evaluation. Our scouting staff is comprised of trained, experienced scouts.
All of them have extensive education and training in scouting and/or have worked with professional organizations in some capacity in their history as a scout or scouting consultant. Optimum Scouting was founded five years ago by myself (Eric Galko) and has grown substantially since then.

You guys have been great on this board, I love the feedback.
Here is a guy you might want to look at. The Skins have not looked at him yet, but they will be at the Battle of Florida

We like to think that we are pretty darned smart football fans... and, we appreciate a thoughtful and insightful contributor.

Unless someone has him specifically eyeballed, likely will be a UFA... The most likely draft scenario would be: DS: "Mike, I love what you've been doing... you know... I've been pretty quiet so far... could I ask for something... yada, yada..."Redskin in Canada wrote:Late rounder, 6th or 7th.cowboykillerzRED wrote:Faster then the at one time fastest man in the league? Too many holes... Qb, OL and WR being the biggest right? Maybe a CB and some depth for safety but WR is a pretty high priority, with kid who's dad is a redskins legend and happens to be a FAST WR. Something we lack at that position.Redskin in Canada wrote:Late rounder, 6th or 7th.cowboykillerzRED wrote:Faster then the at one time fastest man in the league? That's pretty fast I'd say

Just to give you guys a heads up, if they are diamonds in the rough that means that most of the NFL teams have inquired about them, so that is why they don't state who has looked at them, as far as my other articles NFL Draft Late round steals, those are guys that are not getting great looks but could be a potential roster guys in the future.
Here is a new one on Lanny Kelly, CB of Howard University
