If it works they do. I don't think this staff is nearly as skittish as the fans are. This coach went into the year with Rex & Beck at QB after passing on several other options. They're obviously committed to building, not appeasing.
If given time, I'm all for it or another QB. I base my opinion on the fact I don't think he'll be given time. I've watched almost every game of Tannehill this year and the guy is gonna need time. Very inconsistent with accuracy problems, locks onto receivers, often under throws his receivers, and doesn't have a whole lot of experience. He is mobile, and very athletic. Not sure about his smarts.

I think I'll take a one year hiatus from the site though cause the people on here are gonna be going crazy if Flynn sucks and we only have a developmental QB as the backup.

So you better hope that Flynn is good enough to carry the team for two seasons while this guy develops cause that's the timeline. With two games on tape, it's amazing if anyone could possibly tell for sure, much less someone who doesn't have access to game film...

He may need time, but so does this franchise. We are getting better, but watching teams like New Orleans & Green Bay play, it becomes clear we've got a ways to go. We aren't a Matt Flynn or a rookie QB away.

But, with smart drafting, we will be there sooner than later.

Maybe I'm watching the wrong games, but Tannehill looks like a total beast to me. Mobile, accurate, good arm. I don't think he'd be a huge project, seems to make pretty good decisions. I don't think he makes it to us in the second, If we can't trade back do we take him at 6? I wouldn't be surprised if he moves up boards.

Looks like no Tannehill at the Sr Bowl.
Tannenhill with "significant injury" ...
suffered a significant foot injury last week during training in Florida.

SI.com's Tony Pauline reports a "significant foot injury" will prevent Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill from participating in the Senior Bowl.
It's a big blow for a player who was rocketing up draft boards ever since Oklahoma's Landry Jones and USC's Matt Barkley announced they wouldn't enter the draft. A former receiver, Tannehill didn't take over as A&M's quarterback until midway through his junior season, meaning he's put much less on tape than other senior signal callers. The Senior Bowl would have been a great opportunity to solidify his status as an early-round pick. Tannehill was going to be the top quarterback on Redskins coach Mike Shanahan's South squad.

Too bad regarding Tannenhill since the Skins staff is coaching his team. Nonetheless, he has time to impress between now and the draft.

As for RG3. Let the mock games begin. Some people have him falling to the Skins at 6. If he's there, you run to the podium with his name. If not, don't panic--it could also be a good win for the Skins yet.

If Shanny doesn't think he fits, he'll also have a whole lot of teams looking to trade with. That's what I said last year about Gabbert as well.

I don't think RG III goes to #6. Too many clubs need a QB and I think St. Louis will get lots of trade offers for the #2 spot. Only time will tell.

Senior Bowl QBs are set. It looks like Nick Foles, Brandon Weeden, Kirk Cousins & Kellen Moore will highlight the Senior Bowl QBs. I suspect Shanahan will have the chance to coach Foles & Weeden with Tannenhill out. Will be interesting to see who excels.
