KazooSkinsFan @ tribeofjudah
The games to be Hognosticated are:

Sun., Jan. 08
Atlanta @ New York Giants
Pittsburgh @ Denver
Each hognosticator should pick the winner of each game, and a point total for the entire weekend (that means all teams, all games).
Visiting hognosticators have until 4:00 PM EST, Friday to make their picks. After the visitors have picked, the home hognosticator has until 4:00 PM, Saturday to lock in his picks.
NOTE: Once the home hognosticator has picked, the visitor's picks are locked, but the home hognosticator can still change his selection up until his deadline.*
Happy Hognosticating!

Oh come on, I thought my tank in the last week got me out of this. I totally don't get the point of the playoffs. I really am not trying to be difficult, but I really don't enjoy this, it seems totally pointless to me. Can't the next seed replace me?
I won't push it like last year. My picks if my resignation aren't accepted are:
Texans, Saints, Falcons, Steelers and 180. But I really would appreciate it if I could be replaced by #13. The season is so many games and a clear test of skill, and then this is just a coin flip tournament with so few games and the deeper the playoffs go the less meaning this has because it's fewer and fewer games.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

This is all true, of course.
If you really want out just predict a total of zero points. Tribe should be able to take care of the rest.

PS - I read stuff you wrote concerning this last year and I totally know how you felt about being drained.

Sat., Jan. 07
Cincinnati
New Orleans
Sun., Jan. 08
New York Giants
Pittsburgh
171 total points (It will not matter because we have a different pick in one game)
Good luck Jokko!
PS This contest is just DIFFERENT than the normal Hognostications. There are two levels, games and total points. You can try to get one, the other or both to win. Not a coin flip at all.

Even though I seriously don't want to do it, I don't consider it sporting to tank on purpose.

Thanks RiC - all the best to you and the other players
The tie breaker part is all that I have an issue with
this can come down to not picking a winner - just taking the under/over - the total points over 4 games leaves a lot of room
a suggestion only, because there are a few games
make the tie breaker a prediction on the point difference in the last game - closest wins
hey - the Hognostications winner is based on the whole year, as it should
this is just a 'playoff' - no big deal

The season is 256 games and the winner is the one who picks the most of them straight up. With the playoffs it's 1 versus 1 each week and one upset and you're out. And like you did, the home team knows the visitors picks and isn't out picking them, just deciding where they are wrong. So as the visitor you're almost always going to pick every favorite and make the home pick the upset or go with the points, which is totally a coin flip. And it's at the worst time. I'm in three pools and when the playoffs come I'm burned out on picking. But like last year I am not tanking on purpose and I didn't whine after the playoffs started, just before.
BTW, sucking this year in my other pick em pool paid off. I finished dead last, which was worth $350 on a $100 entry. Last year I finished first (yeah, I mentioned that). So first to worst, both pay. It is mediocrity that is death... I put almost no effort into picking this year, I was too busy. Until later in the year when I realized I could finish last. The third pool is a survivor pool.
Hail to the Redskins!

One game difference plus the unnecessary tie breaker. Giants delivered as planned.
