The Ole Get outta Jail free Card. Its Good to be a COWBOY.

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Parcells' request helps Carson get early release

By Clarence E. Hill Jr.

Star-Telegram Staff Writer

IRVING - Defensive tackle Leo Carson, who served eight days of a 30-day sentence in an Alabama jail last month after pleading guilty to trespassing and unlawful imprisonment, is working out at the Cowboys' Valley Ranch headquarters.

Acting on a request from Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, Carson's agent, Johnny Brutkiewicz, lobbied Circuit Judge Joseph Johnston of Mobile, Ala., to allow his client to return to Dallas so he could continue his rehabilitation from off-season knee surgery in preparation for the start of training camp July 31 in Oxnard, Calif.

"Coach Parcells wrote me a letter, saying he needed to be rehabbing his knee," Brutkiewicz said. "I made the request, and the district attorney was not opposed to it."

Brutkiewicz said the judge never stipulated that Carson do all of his time at one time and that he could possibly complete his jail stint after the season.

Brutkiewicz said if Carson stayed out of trouble, there was a chance he might not have to go back to jail.

Carson, 27, who is expected to compete for a starting role opposite La'Roi Glover in 2004, might face more discipline from the NFL. His case falls under the league's personal conduct policy, and Carson could be subject to a four-game suspension by the league.

NFL spokesman Michael Signora said the case is still under review. Carson had faced charges of kidnapping and burglary involving a break-in at the home of his ex-girlfriend's sister before pleading guilty to the lesser charges.

Considering that the Cowgirls have all the circuit courts on speedial, I am not the least bit surprised. Hopefully this cat is worth the "routine" call.

Dont worry redeemed when parcells gets finished with him, he will want to go back to jail. I guess Parcells really likes him, which means if parcells really likes you, he is gonna be in you arse big time.

Now that i think about it, Parcells is a big smart ass, every time Carson does something wrong Parcells is gonna say " I should have left your fat, lazy ass in jail" LOL

Gibbs would have released him.
I am in a state of ecstasy! Never mind that nonsense about euphoria and so on. It is sheer, unadulterated, uncompromising ecstasy!

What ever you dont know what Gibbs would have done. Beside every circumstance is different. Parcells knew the story on the guy when they signed him last year. So h obviously saw something in him and new that the case was B.S.

:-k I don't know, Gambit. I think Gibbs released someone within the last couple months (was it Ware?) because of conduct detrimental to the team. Spurrier might have kept him, but there's a new sherriff in town.

It is unfortunate though that the Tuna would stick out his neck for this cat. I liked it when he was tougher on his players. I'm even amazed Antonio Bryant will still be in camp with y'all, after the spat and all. Oh well.

A man drunk driving and a man being denied his parental rights to see his child are 2 different things do we agree. Although both incidents show the stupidity of human nature. One clearly shows an individual that wants to be a father to his daughter.

I know where you're coming from, but, at the same time, I think the law sees both as potentially dangerous to another person's life. It's sad though, that the daughter has to go through that. :(
