Hognostication: 6th Pick 2012 NFL Draft

Post by Redskin in Canada »

This is my Hognostication thread for the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

And with the 6th position in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select ...

Justin Blackmon, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State (hoping to get a 21st century Art Monk)

Please add your own Hognostication to this thread.

No wish lists, just your Hognostication, PLEASE. Each Hognosticator is either right or (most likely) wrong. It is also VALID to say:

a) TRADE UP from 6th

or

b) TRADE DOWN from 6th (big temptation but I decided Blackmon).

We already have enough (boring and tired arguments about QBs) discussions elsewhere. Just your PICK hognostication here, PLEASE.

We are playing for bragging rights only.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

With the 6th pick the Washington Redskins select Robert Griffin III meaning the Redskins will replace R.G.III with RGIII.

Given that Mortenson at ESPN is reporting that Isray will draft Luck, I'll go with Redskins trading up to get RGIII.

Mortenson may be right... but it's a pure guess. The buzz is, the FO was fired over their plan to draft Luck and move Manning... but who really knows?

The Colts are on the Clock...Looks like we have a trade. The Colts have traded the 1st pick to the Washington Redskins. The Redskins choose Andrew Luck, QB Stanford.

and with the Washington Redskins on the clock - I have the Redskins FO trading down
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Really? I thought they were fired because they didn't have an adequate back up. If the buzz is correct that changes everything. Other teams might make a move to trade up.

In a startling turn of events, Andrew Luck is STILL on the board at #6. Shanny himself sprints down the aisle with the pick.

Well, if I couldn't get the QB I really want I think this guy could open the play action up so much, even an average QB would have a field day in the Shans system.

A RB in the first is a no go for shanny.. Especially w the three we have.
Guy looks like a beast for sure tho.

Edit: my pick
Ima have to go with RGiii too.. Probably trade up to avoid getting burned.

well Frank, who are you picking in the middle? Come on dude , who are you picking? You watch this stuff.

By the way I work for people that used to be college players like for VA tech and such. They tell me that RG3 is all that and he probably will be better than Luck in the long run. I would love to have him like most of us would.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them trade down twice in the 1st round b/c I think their target is going to be a QB at the end of the 1st or 2nd round. They could stock pile 2nd and 3rd round picks.

If they don't have an easy, and reasonable path to RGIII (in terms of the cost), this is exactly what they'll try to do.

The Redskins trade the #6 pick this year and next year's # 1 to the Vikings for the 3rd pick and select RGIII. This move is done for fear of Cleveland taking him at #4. It is also done so as not to give up any more picks from this draft. This leaves them with 4 more picks in the next 3 rounds which they use to further bolster the offense.

wow, Blackmon is still there at 6, take him!! We don't trade up for RGIII as we signed Flynn in FA a month earlier-- wouldn't that be great? Get a qb and a stud WR with OL coming later in the draft.

Yeah, just like how with Adrian Peterson opening up the field so much, the Vikings QBs like Tarvaris Jackson, D McNabb, Webb, Ponder, have looked really, really................average.

Disagree. If RGIII is gone and we don't trade up, stay at 6 and take either Blackmon, Claiborne, or one of the offensive linemen. Trading down is nice and all, but we need to add some elite talent to this squad and that is exactly what we can do at 6.
Suck and Luck
