Nice to hear the rook was still involved with meeting, etc......
Rookie defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins is ahead of schedule in his rehab from a knee ligament injury suffered last preseason.
Jenkins should be available to participate in off-season work, including mini-camps and OTAs, head coach Mike Shanahan said.
Jenkins suffered the knee injury in the Redskins’ third preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.
He was placed on injured reserve a few days later and underwent surgery in the first week of September.
Jenkins has been a regular at Redskins Park all season long, sitting in on defensive meetings while rehabbing his knee.
Prior to his injury, Jenkins was seeing increased playing time and making an impact on the defensive line. The 6-4, 309-pounder was showing an impressive ability to collapse the pocket on the interior and penetrate into the backfield to disrupt plays.
The Clemson product was the Redskins’ second-round draft pick (37th overall) last April.
Read where Haslett(I think) said that if they had not put him on IR, he possibly could have returned in December. We've got the Bionic Man!! Can't wait to see him in action next season!!
Thanks for posting, that is good news. Sucks that we didn't get to see him play this year, but its good that the injury happened early enough that he should plenty of time to recover fully for next year.
