Guys, any tall CBs coming out of the draft in 2012...??? With the emergence of tall WR and TE: Calvin J, Jimmy Graham, the Gronk, etc.... teams will now be targeting the BIG cornerbacks who are Fast and able to LEAP tall builings a a single bound...

1. Who is the tallest CBs out there? (Seattle has one)
2. Are there any in the college ranks?
3. Will this is a new "trend" in the NFL..?

I just saw Grimes, 5.10 try to cover Jimmy Graham 6.6....IT WAS A JOKE...HAHAHAHA

Big CBs in Seattle. We should get one during the draft........

RENTON — Pete Carroll has had big cornerbacks on his teams before.

But two starting at the same time? Never.

Such is the unique luxury the Seahawks have in Brandon Browner (6 feet 4, 221 pounds) and Richard Sherman (6-3, 195), who have impressed not only in stature, but in production in their first years in Seattle.

"I love the way these guys are playing," Carroll said. "They have tremendous upside. They're just getting started."

If you are asking your corners to function primarily in a zone scheme, they will be fine.

If you are asking for a lot of man, you will find that tall corners are at a disadvantage. The physics of reacting to the receiver's moves are simply against them.

Shorter corners are simply able to change direction more quickly.

Haslet requires a significant amount of man coverage skill, because his schemes often leave them on a island.

It's just another choice. Our defense does not lend itself to most tall corners. The ones who can play man consistently well are rare athletes, indeed. You don't find them on the shelf at "CB's r' Us".

BTW... you apparently never saw Pat Fischer (5'9") cover Harold Charmichael (6'8")...

I'm just say'n that the 2 best corners in the draft, (Claiborn and Kirkpatrick)are (in order) 6 feet and 6 feet 3, buy the way they are both top 10 talents with great additude, work ethic etc. howeva claiborn out gets kirkpatrick by maybe 5 picks or so.

BTW- it was histericall watching Jimmy Grahm leaping over Brent Grimes' head for the touchdown. ROTFALMAO

Hey PickSix....I don't know if we'll get either CB in the draft. We have more glaring needs at Oline, etc....

Our current CBs are ok but we need GREAT ONES....

Claiborn may come to us if Luck and RGIII are beyond our reach... That would make me feel a little better about not getting our QB... and would go a long way towards making our defense awesome.

Yes, I saw Pat Fischer cover Carmichael like a blanket. I remember seeing Fischer jump on Carmichael's back, climb up on his shoulders, and sit there trying to pull Carmichael's head off. A remarkable sight.

I remember a little guy named Darrell Green who could cover tall receivers because he could jump. I think it was Art Monk who said that when they practiced and both went up for a pass, he would be looking at Green's heels.

guys that i really want in FA r Cortland Finnegan(<probbably will be resigned) and Brandon Carr. they would EASILY be the number #1.
