I really dislike Carlos Rogers
He just caught his SIXTH INT this season.
He had eight in his entire Redskins career.
Where has this all been, Carlos?

Yep, Carlos has no responsibility, it's all us. Got it.

Hail to the Redskins!

I know that you're just venting - Carlos is just doing what he does and like most players in the NFL he's VERY talented
he had the same talent while he was here - we did not put him in position to use those talents
THIS IS A TEAM GAME - players playing together as a team do 'look' a lot better

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

How so? He was a coverage corner and we had him cover. Frequently in single so we could double someone else because he was a good cover corner. You're going to have to explain how that is not putting him in a position to use his talents. Seems dead on for his talents.
My issues were in order:
#1) His attitude, which is on him no matter how much Frank wants to blame the team for every player with an ego. People are responsible for themselves.
#2) His inability to catch, which impacted other teams not throwing to him. No matter how much anyone wants to blame the team because a millionaire can't go to an eye doctor on his own.
And yet I still wanted to keep him if he's sign for realistic money. He wouldn't, he wanted to be paid as if he didn't have issues #1 and #2. And he showed that again by blaming his lack of ability to catch on that the Redskins didn't motivate him. Ironically emphasizing #1 and #2 at the same time.

+1 Well said Kazoo. And it's not like teams were jumping all over Rogers when he became a free agent. He had to take a one-year deal with the 49ers.

Only being able to sign a 1 year deal is a great motivator for Rogers to perform. He not only under performed for us; he wanted to leave. No use harping on this. He's gone. Let's focus on the future.

His attitude was a biggie for me as well. He didn't seem to want to be here. If he had the kind of year he's having now, last year, then maybe he would be. He's much more focused and motivated this year. Most likely for money. I'll Pass.

Andre Carter wasn't in position to succeed his last year as a stand-up LB. But, Carlos?? That's just wrong.

He'd be our #1 DB. He would have gotten paid. Dez Bryant doesn't make either of those catches this year.
SkinsJock wrote:he had the same talent while he was here - we did not put him in position to use those talents
I disagree, he failed to put himself in position to succeed. He makes far too much money to not go to the eye doctor. It's beyond immature to refuse to do it on ur own, JUST to spite your team. It's selfish to not better yourself for the cost of an eye exam and contacts so that your teammates can have a better season.
He did that to himself, he did that to his teammates and all out of spite.
If I don't wear my glasses to work and simply refuse to accurately type until my company buys me a new pair, I'd be fired. Immediately. He's not a baby, he's a grown man. If he would have helped himself, he would have been paid sooner.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

This subject is re-hashed over and over and over again.
1. Carlos is very talented (his speech....no so much)
2. IF he wanted to be "elite" from day ONE, he himself should have SEEKED TO GET GLASSES OR CONTACTS.
3. Coaches in DC shoulda/coulda/woulda DEMANDED that Carlos get an eye exam or he sits on the bench.
Not crying over spilled milk. I wish him well but you recalled that I used to call him: Carloser (he's improved since getting eye checked)

I have no problem with some players going somewhere else and doing well
I did not want Rogers here because of his attitude and he did not seem to want to be here - SEE YA
I still am glad he's playing well - he might not have caught as many INTs as we'd like but he did do his job here
I'm still glad he's not here AND I'm still glad he's doing well

I think multiple of us were challenging your assertion that we didn't put him in a position to succeed. Can you explain? You were the only one who argued that I saw.

I used the wrong words
I think that Rogers has always been a good CB He just did not like the way he was treated by the fans & media
Carlos has always thought that he's a lot better CB than he is
all players should think that they're good at what they do - Rogers is over the top about that perception
Rogers' play as a CB here was solid - he dropped a lot of INTs that he should have made, BUT, he was in position to make plays
the coaches here were just not prepared to give him what he wanted - he felt that he was not appreciated
my point here is simple - I don't like or hate Rogers - he's a good CB and always was - he's not as good as he thinks he is
we need total committment here and he was not prepared to give that - SEE YA
