So Let Me Tell You About My Day...

Post by BigRedskinDaddy »

Thought you guys would like this. Today I decided to go to church, forgoing actually watching the game on tv instead of streaming it. Since it was being broadcast locally, however, I asked my Mom to DVR it. (I know, I should join the 21st century and get one myself) Anyway, I get back and proceed to watch the 1st quarter.

As T-Rex did his thing on the first 2 or 3 series, I was understandably ready to fast forward the whole thing. The Skins dodged a ton of bullets early, and I'm still thinking "It's gonna be a LOOONG day." Then out of the blue a co-worker texts me with "Congrats on the big W." D'oh! All my hard work avoiding scores was for naught, but I'll take early notice on a victory anyday. At this point my Mom - at my urging - proceeds to tell me the score was 23-3 or something late in the game when she looked.

It just keeps getting better. Apparently not only did the Skins win, they stomped the little g-men into the sod doing it. Then a couple of things occur to me:

1) a buddy I went through my rehab program with is a rabid Giants fan; I'd already ridden him on Facebook about the first win. He needed to hear from me again.

2) not only did we sweep the midgets, something that rarely happened even in the Gibbs 1.0 years, we probably ruined their playoff chances as well. Awesome.

Well, as I was logging on to my laptop, getting ready to just, you know, say "HI" to my buddy, a flash of inspiration gave me the following joke.

Q: What do the NY Giants and teepee dust have in common?

A: They both get swept by Redskins.

Yep, I posted it on the F-book. On the most public wall I could find.

I wish every Sunday was like this...

Guys, guys, guys -

That wasn't my point. Did you miss the rest of the story? All I'm sayin' is THIS particular Sunday turned out to be, well, perfect.

And it happened at the expense of the Giants. The only thing better than THAT would have been the Cowboys.
Or perhaps the Eagles. I can't decide.

Didn't mean to sidetrack ya with that innocuous detail about WHY I didn't see the game live, honest.
