Sean Taylor finally hired an agent yesterday, paving the way for the Washington Redskins and their first-round draft pick to open contract negotiations less than a week before players start arriving for training camp.
Taylor, the fifth pick overall in April's draft, had been without representation for almost three months before hiring Miami-based agent Eugene Mato yesterday. Mato actually will hand the negotiating duties to associate Jeff Moorad, a high-profile baseball agent.
