In all honesty, the play looked over at that point. With the way the refs throw flags for Unnecessary Roughness, I can't get too upset with DHall for not wanting to pile on. Seriously, look at Fletcher's penalty. it was complete BS, but the refs favor certain teams. Had DHall put a shoulder into Gronk -- or better yet had LL been on the field and laid him out -- would we have gotten a flag? Who knows?
Look at the Brady scramble AFTER the Fletcher penalty. The league wants to hamstring defenses. It's pure BS.

Agreed. Although I'm not so sure Moss's penalty was a stupid one. I didn't get to see a replay (thanks, CBS, for your awesome coverage of the game's pivotal moment!), but Moss was adamant after the game that there was nothing in it.
Obviously the player is going to see things from a more one-sided perspective, but until I can see the foul I'm going to give the Redskin the benefit of the doubt — especially on a penalty that is not called very often and is often highly questionable.

I think everyone in the game and everyone watching thought the guy was going to be tackled out of bounds. Its easy to look in hindsight and think he should have piled on. In fact you can pick every play of the game and see someone not piling on each play...fluke play with poor tackling.
Hall throwing the flag is what is unacceptable.
You go until the whistle is blown. THAT is fundamental football. Teams that when Super Bowls do not have their captains turning their backs on a live play.

Hall should have at least got in position should Gronk have gotten loose to tackle him or have done one of his patented ball strips - and speaking of ball strips? You have the question why this playmaking ball stripper didn't have the DESIRE to go after the ball on this play. YOU play to win the game! In Hall's case, it wasn't even "poor tackling" It was lack of effort. "Fluke" play? - poor tackling does not consitute a "fluke" play. It is what it is - poor tackling and that is not playing to win the game.
My point is anger should be directed to the two players that CAN'T TACKLE one guy then a guy that just happen to be standing near them. Thats a fluke play you don't see that too often happening in the NFL, can't blame Hall on that. I'm sure if he wasn't inches near the out of bounds line he would have helped tackle.
Where's the blame on Kerrigan for letting slow Tom Brady slip through his grasp and complete a big play? Or Logan Paulson's false start? Riiiiiight.
So if he would have dived onto the guy guess what probably would have been called in this day and age of football "LATE HIT". Then yall would be complaining that Hall had no reason to hit a guy as he was going out of bounds. Attacks on Hall have been little bit too much lately when you have an entire team that struggles. I think it is PERSONAL.
He made some big plays as well in the game and I remember him coming up and supporting the run a few times pretty good. Now if he could do it again I'm sure he would have helped out. The guy is just frustrated with losing like he should be. I'd rather see someone like that than a player that don't give 2 ish.
Just say you mad we lost the game and continue to be a losing team and you don't like HALL...instead of nitpicking every lil error he makes.

I don't think that he'll do it, but if I was Shanahan I would strip Hall of his captaincy and bench him for next week. Not only for that lack of effort, but for that idiotic penalty when he three the referee's flag. This guy is a captain and more often than not he acts like a jerk on the field.
It would also be one thing if he was effective, but he's not. He's never been a good cover corner, but in the past he at least made big plays that made up for his shoddy coverage skills, but this year he isn't even doing that.

Shanahan said the penalty would have been disappointing regardless of who committed it, but was especially disappointing because Hall is one of the team captains and is expected to set a good example. The coach said infractions like that test his patience.
“Especially when guys are in a leadership role, we understand that you have to keep your cool, regardless of if you like a call or don’t like a call,” Shanahan said. “That’s your job to handle yourself in a professional manner, and more importantly, not put your team in a hole by having a 15-yard penalty.
