BECK

Post by PickSixerTWSS »

OK this is something i just got from site, and until beck has a good game i believe we should start calling him John Blegh. :puke: (hopefully karma backfires and he plays better.) like my Cassel post.

BTW last year i called donavan mcnabb :Monavan Dcnabb

I chose "bad" b/c I didn't see "donkey."

I actually think from the neck down he is more than adequate. His big problem right now is confidence which allows a QB to pull the trigger at the right moment.

There are a number of top college teams where Beck wouldn't see playing time.

He shouldn't get all of the snaps! MS has to be at leaat considering benching Beck if he plays poorly in the first half of Fins game. I think it is crazy, in general, for the 2nd string guy not to get at least some snaps with the first team.

I voted decent. I think he played good in the Carolina game, was captain checkdown in the 49ers game, and got mauled in the Bills game. But based solely off of HIS PLAY and not the offense in general, I had to vote decent. It's still too soon to say otherwise. And if we go back to Grossman, be prepared for even more alcoholic Redskins fans.

I think tomorrows game will say a lot on where Beck is at the QB position and more importantly on what his future is for not only this team but any team. Having the line in tact will be key. Miami is middle of the road in Run defense and is terrible vs the pass. Of course we can look at teams we HAVE played in the past and how they ranked vs the pass and run but he's played a few games and I would have to think that if he's ever going to get another opportunity, he'll have to do something tomorrow. I'm not saying he will or he won't. I'm just saying that having a few starts back under his belt. Working with the same guys and playing against a mediocre defense is the perfect team to see really what you have - if anything at all.

I voted bad.

I felt he did OK in preseason and, at times, showed a little promise. I was out of the country for the Carolina game, but with the Bills and the 9er's I thought he played scared. I would give him a half tomorrow and if he shows he still plays scared then I would put Grossman in.

At least Rex would try to get the ball down field to our young WRs. Gotta think of next year and the development of the youngins.....

One thing is for certain, Beck is not the greatest QB. But, I have to say he's not been the on the receiving end of lady luck's good wishes. First, he lands in Miami as a third stringer on the WORST imaginable team, and is thrown in for four games. It's impossible to tell much of anything from that experience.
They tried three quarterbacks that year and all of them became casualties on a team ,that in automotive terms, could be classified as a 1970 AMC Gremlin.
Then he gets a chance here and does ok in his start against Carolina. After that he loses half the starting line, hightower, moss. The redskins OL during the Buffalo game was one of the poorest i've ever seen. Again, what is any QB supposed to do, much less a rookie? Hell, Brady would be relegated to mediocrity in such a scenario. Regardless of whether he could develop into something decent, I think that either bad luck or fate will win out and keep him from reaching his potenial. I'm not superstitious, but what ladder did he walk under and how large was the black cat that crossed his path?
Tomorrow, he will most likely be granted two quarters to banish the ghosts
that have haunted him. The irony of his final opportunity tomorrw is uber-apparent, in that, it will arrive on a field in south florida where his NFL story began.

Arghh it pisses me off that we didn't draft a qb this year especiallyRYAN MALLET! ;furious; I think that he will end up a great Qb in the Nfl in about 2 or 3 years. i think it will be the same like the packers FARVE to RODGERS:BRADY to Mallet god....
