we now have guys in charge here that know what they are doing
is there any doubt that what has happened here recently is a step in the right direction?
is there any doubt that this franchise is better than it was 2 years ago
let's try and accept that this franchise still has a little ways to go ...
we're getting there - it will take time

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Grossman taking first team reps? Sounds like Grossman will be inserted into the game if our offense is sluggish like the last two games and is still within reach.

If Shanny has to bring Grossman in relief of Beck and he does well and sparks the Skins to a win, it doesn't mean that Shanny has to turn the starting job over to Grossman for the next game. Grossman might be better suited to come off the bench. We all know that Grossman's problem has been consistency. He has had games that show that he can play well (Good Rex). Coming off the bench might help Good Rex to come out more often.
I see no point in making Grossman the starter again, because even with a Godd Rex start way over due, we know that Bad Rex will always out stay Good Rex. Let Beck get his experience and see if he can develop over time - he did play well in relief in Philly and his performance in Carolina was adequate.
I don't think it is a ploy to motivate Beck, because even if Shanny is evaluating Beck (which I understand is good for the long run), a coach can't leave a possible victory on the table by not playing the QB who is willing to make the throws. When I listened to the evaluation of Beck concerning the 49ers game this week on the radio shows, I learned that Kyle had designed plays for Beck to hit receivers on what was a quick route (I heard the actual name of the play, but can't remember it) that was supposed to be pretty much guaranteed to be open. It was said that these play were open every time and Beck for some inexplicable reason did not throw it. These were the plays that had Gaffney so upset. If Beck is not going to make those plays and they are there, and the game is close, you have to put whatever QB you have in the game who is willing to make that throw. If those throws are made, we might have come out with a victory over the Niners because a couple of scores early by us whould have changed the dynamic of the entire game and might have made Alex Smith have to beat us with his arm.
I could care less who starts or plays at QB .. OR if the QBs rotate each series
- whichever QB helps this offense put some points on the board, should get the most reps

In the last 6 games (Grossman starting 3, Beck starting 3) here are their stats:
Grossman: 1 TD, 8 INTS
Beck: 2 TD, 2 Rushing TDS, 4 INTS
I understand that people want to see us "move the ball down the field", and Rex is not afraid to take shots and throw it. But what does that result in? An interception or a field goal? I don't think it matters who plays at QB, our offense is just plain horrible this year. However, I'd rather take baby steps until next season (Beck) over a never-was "gunslinger" who may show some signs of life and flash here and there, but in the end just winds up failing in a big way (Grossman).

Baby steps? towards what? When Beck plays the game is almost unwatchable. At least with Grossman we can get the receivers some work.
Support the troops, especially our snipers.

We know what we're getting with Grossman - he's going to be the starter here for a while
Beck did not become the QB that Mike thought he was
Mike's made some mistakes here with QBs - hopefully he's learned and we'll draft a future great QB in the draft

StorminMormon86 wrote:Any predictions for which Rex is going to show up at the Seahawks game?
I am going to predict that Good Rex shows up. I think that time that he was on the bench was very productive for him. When he was benched, his performances were getting worse with each game. With the last two, he performances have gotten better with each game. I am going to say the trend continues and he gets even better this third game after the benching.

I cannot wait for us to get a decent QB and not have to watch Beck or Grossman trying to play QB here
we'll see more of Grossman than Beck the rest of this season and then both will not be here anymore
VERY disapointing not to be able to have 1 of these 2 be able to play here while the next QB gets ready

Grossman vrs Beck - what an incredibly bad scene that is
we have not had a decent QB for a while and while there have been many issues this position will be resolved & soon
Kyle MAY BE a good OC but his ONLY chance at any success here depends on this franchise getting better play from the QBs
if there's a silver lining here it's that we have gotten a lot younger and have addressed some other issues
we are not far off - THE #1 PRIORITY is to get better play from the QB AND to get the kid we draft ready to play
I do not see Grossman playing here next season

It seems to me that Rex has shown he can be a good back-up who could "hold the fort" for a good team - sort of Kitna-esque. He'd be a great guy to have in the fold while starting a talented rookie like RGIII.
Beck has shown he is no more than an emergency back-up at this point. One might say he, in the words of a recent poll, bites the wang.
