What claim do 49er fans have in talking trash on a Redskins message board? I just don't get it.

You wouldn't be talking smack on the Niners board if you guys were 6-1 and we were 3-4? Also just for some clarification, I haven't been talking smack just clearing up some information that stopping Gore would stop our offense, I guess you guys haven't been watching any of the Niners games this year. Just giving you guys some much needed facts, since you guys seem to be misinformed. I'm hoping for a good game with no injuries, on both sides of the ball since I know you guys can't really afford more injuries. I happen to know 2 Redskins fans, in fact they are family members and so this game will be pretty hard to watch, especially if the Niners find themselves with the W at the end of the game. So in some ways I'm torn. I've been cheering for you guys up until now..Sunday we'll bring it and I'm sure the Redskins will too.

All of my family in Long Island can watch me laugh as the Jets lose for all I care.

I have watched the niners play. When Gore is shut down the offense sputters, I don't think you can argue that. Alex Smith's success has a lot to do with how well the run game is doing. Keep in mind, he is still the same Alex Smith.

I don't believe that many Redskins fans would go onto a niners board at all even if we were 6-1. We have been let down so many times after decent/promising start. The 49ers will indeed make the playoffs due to a piss poor division and some good drag out football games. However, the playoffs are a different story. Good luck.

Yes, I agree with you that keeping Gore bottled up does help in making it harder for our offense to keep on track but Gore is not going to be stopped the entire game. You might be able to stop him even in the first half of the game but by the second half, when the defense is tired an worn out that's when Gore gets his second wind and busts up the gut for 30-40 yards. He tends to get stronger as the game goes on. Also our defense can make points just as easily as our offense, so even if our offense sputters, our defense can make plays and you know that as well as I do, if you've been watching the games, which you claim you have. It's a game and anything can happen, any team can win and that was proven just this past Sunday when the Saints where humiliated by the Lambs. So good luck to you.

9er fan from the DC area here... i really just registered to come say that I hope this week's game is a good one with no injuries. Also, wondering what your opinion are on showing up to the stadium in niners gear? Last time I came to FEDEX was the thrashing the Skins put on the niners 56-17 I think. That was also the game Gore got his first TD... like a 60 yard TD! But I wore my niners jersey, though i sat in the club seats so i didnt catch any flack. I imagine sitting in the stands will bring a different kind of heat.

Anyways, good luck this week fellas. Been a lurker on this board for a while and just decided to register since the skins are playing the niners this week.

Ok think about it, you're registered to a Redskins message board and your a San Fran 49er fan and you have a name like that? lol. Don't you think you're going to get a little ribbing, to say the least? lol I just wonder how long it will take before a Redskins fan starts in on your name...4...3...2...1!

Nope, I have no desire to waste my time signing up for an OPPOSING TEAM'S (one who isn't even in my division, mind you) message board just to state my opinion. I wouldn't care if we were going to the Superbowl undefeated, I would never even waste my time.

Frank Gore is indeed a big part of our offense, but he was shut down in our first 3 games, and we won two of those three. The one we lost, to the Cowpukes, we lost in OT after one long pass play and a field goal. So we CAN win without Gore tearing up the field.

Alex's play is dependent, in my opinion, on our coach's play calling. Harbaugh is VERY creative in finding ways to get the first down and keep the ball moving. We had two first down plays against the Browns when Alex threw short passes to two different O-lineman! The Niners just have a very scrappy offense that keeps defenses guessing. They're not explosive by any measure, but they are effective.

I look forward to the post-season when we'll get a chance to play the Packers. The Pack has an explosive offense but a poor defense and suspect ST. They get victories by outscoring opposing teams in a shoot out. If the Niner defense can slow their O, I believe we can beat them.

By the way, football fans, I don't understand why SOME of you would be so upset at opposing fans coming to your message board. Don't you think it makes for a more interesting thread when opposing viewpoints are present??? I only ask because that's why I go to MBs all around the NFL. It's more fun!! Besides, the Niner forums are WAY over-moderated... hence my signature.

I happen to agree with you on the overmoderating at the .com. I used to go there before I booted for standing up for someone else, do you go there anymore? I hate the Redzone with a passion, nothing worse than a bunch of threads that all say the same thing. Good to see that the 49er fan base is representing in here and I think being very respectful of our hosts. :)

Nope, I don't go there anymore either. I got banned from the redzone for stating an unpopular opinion.
No vulgar language was used. And no one was attacked.
The excuse was breaking the #1 rule. "Don't be a jerk." Apparently my opinion was so unpopular I was deemed "A jerk" and that was it.

What was so... mind boggling... was that the mod who banned me removed half the sub-forums on the site just to get rid of the thread. :explode:

If I was the owner of that site, I'd fire that mod for being so knee-jerk in his reaction.

All the mods on that board are idiots. They all think they are above everyone else because they happen to be Mods, so if you disagree with them or make them look bad in any way rather than coming forward and handling it like an adult they ban you like a little child that's not getting his/her own way. That place was and from what I've heard still is a joke.

So you believe the guy with 9 TDs to 2 INTs, including playing well in the first three games when Frank Gore WAS shut down (gaining only 59, 47 and 42 yards), is this guy?

Our QB may not be the best in the league regarding stats but he takes care of the ball and he wins games for us. Take a look at the link I posted at least the Niners haven't had such a hard time finding a QB or have had so much QB controversy as say..oh I don't know the Skins have had since, well pretty much since their existence.

It becomes very hard to take anyone seriously when they open their mouths and poop falls out.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

I recognize the NFL is a strange beast and we could be a Josh McDaniels Bronco-esque 8 game flash in the pan, but I as well as a lot of Niners fans are confident in the direction of this team...Can you blame us?

Our D has been very good the past couple years, especially the run d, but now our pass rush has caught up and we're playing ELITE defense right now. We could be the best defense in the league. We have a good running attack and JH and staff have gotten very efficient play out of Alex Smith. We're one of the few balanced teams in the league and are built for playoff football. Great d, relentless pass rush, efficient offense, ability to come from behind and win. Yeah we think we're going somewhere, we'd be crazy not to! That being said...it's the NFL...

As for the influx of Niner fans here...our boards are boring now that we're winning. In past seasons we were so busy arguing over what was wrong with our team, now there's nothing to talk about there so I came here to see how you all feel about your Skins.

For those who couldn't bother to read the above, best of luck to your team tomorrow! Here's to an injury/-call free game!

Seriously, guys, that failure whose gif I posted earlier is NOT the "same Alex Smith" that we saw today. Does anyone else still believe that TODAY'S Alex Smith is the "same old Alex Smith?"

He may not be elite, but he doesn't make mistakes, which is a far cry from the Alex Smith of that gif I posted, who threw 11 INTS to 1 TD that season.

This is the same Alex Smith. The difference is he has a head coach that has tailored the offense to his skills and has not asked him to do things that he can't. Smith's confidence is waaaaay up, but his skills are the same and so are his little hands.

There's a thin line between love and hate.

Us, Redskin fans are watching you guys turn Carlos Rogers into an interception machine when he only had 6 picks in 6 years here because he dropped almost everything. Again, credit your coaching stuff for bring fun back into the game.

Your success says a lot for Harbaugh who has turned your team into winners w/o the benefit of a true off season.

Good luck to you guys for the rest of the season.
