I cannot conceive, at this point, an 8-8 record. Sad.

Is it really any different from what you thought it was going to be at the beginning of the season? Did you really buy into Grossman's comments???

Yes, it is different. I expected this to be a .500 team... It's now clear that it's not. This team is much farther away than I thought they were.

Oh sorry, I re-read your post and I understand. I'm still thinking between 6-10 and 8-8. Couple games go our way, some don't. Couple we get blown out in, and a couple we do the blowing...you know what I mean. We handled the Giants and the Rams. We got handled by the Bills and Eagles. The other games could have gone either way really. Basically, 3-4 at this point is pretty much in line with where I thought we would be at this time.
Miss you 21

i think our starters are improved from the last couple years and expected to be within a game either way of .500 this year, but with so many out on offense and the depth still being so poor, 6-10 seems optimistic. we should be ending up with a good enough draft pick to get one of them high-falutin' QB prospects without having to trade up or anything.

not whining or crying just stating my opinion :?
OK, but your opinion is whining and crying. The optimists before the season were talking 8-8. When we started 3-1 suddenly the fair weather fans decided we were winning the division and going to the playoffs. Now we're the worst team in the NFL again. The neggies are in their happy place again, whining and crying.

That we started 3-1 shows that we have come a long way. We started like 3 people yesterday on O who started the season. The D was horrible last year and they have improved but no, they aren't a shut down D. The reality is that those of us who were optimistic we'd go 8-8 were right but we didn't know we'd lose practically our entire offense. We're still in solid step forward range. But my happy place isn't whining and kvetching so we're not going to agree on these things.

We're still currently at 3-4, the same record as Philly and Dallas. It's not necessary to be gloom and doom just yet (I hope not at least).

Really??? Do you actually believe what you are typing??? Did you watch the game yesterday???

Besides, we lost to both those teams. Not sure what your reasoning is here.

Really??? Do you actually believe what you are typing??? Did you watch the game yesterday and see how many starters we are missing???

Not sure what your reasoning is here. But congratulations, I know some of you are on cloud nine when you can come in and ignore all the facts and wallow in the glory of saying we suck.

The Redskins needed this loss, IMO. I just hope it serves as a proper wake up call to EVERYONE on the team, including coaches (especially Kyle Shanahan). We're not even halfway into the season yet and you want to be gloom and doom? If we win next week, we'll be .500 at the half mark. Isn't that what most of us predicted us to be at best this year anyway?

That was not a good job by anyone and we lost

This franchise is getting better and just did not play well yesterday

that sort of effort by both players and coaches will result in drastic changes

we are not as bad as we've seen the last 2 weeks and we will get better

whining and crying is for losers - get over it
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

So with like three opening day starters, you blame Kyle?

We are in Second place tied with the Dream Team and the Cowboys at 3-4. Not too bad.

This is the Washington Redskins. Never as good as we'd like, but not as bad as we sometimes fear. A few of us cheered for truly bad Redskin teams (see 1960 and 1961). This team is far better.

Quick comparison? Look up The Goog, Ralph Guglielmi, all-star all-everything from Notre Dame, starting QB about 1960.

You haven't seen bad until the high point of the season is gaining a tie with the Giants on a last-second FG (by Bob Khyat??).

He made no adjustments to the pressure the Bills were bringing. NONE. So yes, I blame him as well as the team for this loss. And I'm not sure if you are comparing me to a character from Alice in Wonderland or what, but I don't really think I've ever "hatted" before in my life.

Rolling Pocket

Post by GoSkins »

With Gibbs I when we played against the Giants we used the rolling pocket. With our OL we should use a rolling pocket on most of our pass plays.

Closer examination would have told you our makeshift line was just flat out overmatched by their starting D. That was the problem with the Titanic you know, they didn't make adjustments after hitting the iceberg. They'd have been fine...

Oh, I thought Titanic would have survived if they had thrown the engines into reverse but hit the iceberg dead-on, rather than trying to turn away. Only managed to rip a gash down the side of the hull, letting water into so many compartments that it pulled the bow under water. Head-on collision would have smashed the bow, but left enough compartments undamaged. Would have floated for days...might even long enough to be towed to a harbor.

The Redskin analaogy would be...gee...hmmm...maybe throwing short-drop passes? Screen passes, since the D was going through the Redskins OL so fast?

To me, it looked like Beck was neither a problem no a solution to a problem.

Weak OL and poor receivers. OL could not stop the pass rush, and could receivers could not get open quickly.

you see improvement ...... really ??? where ??? our D is the best part of this team and our offense has averaged a TD a game.
