1st Post - Not at the best time

Post by HailSkins98 »

Hey everyone,

I have been coming to this website for the last 2 seasons and finally decided to register. As from the subject title you can tell this is my 1st post and sadly not coming at the best of times. What an awful game.

I have been a Skins fan since I was 5 years old back in 1989, when they were actually good. No one can call me a fairweather fan because well look at us since Snyder came in. I wanted to believe John Beck would bring us some wins this season after watching him play in preseason. I believe if we would've went with him from the get go we would be in a better position right now.

Of course it doesn't start with our QB situation. We have way too many holes in our OLINE, poor WR's, D.Hall and Wilson can't tackle well, and our LB's can't cover well enough to play in 3-4. It's a long ways to go but I still want to believe Mike Shanahan is the right coach, but I'm not so sure about his son. If we play like this for the rest of the season I think we will finish 4-12 or 5-11 and we will be able to get someone like Landry Jones or Matt Barkley.

Hail SKINS

HAIL brother.. Tough loss man the holes in our O line kill the run that kills the pass and well its hard to score with the whole offense killed.
Welcome aboard I'm a blind homer man and always have hope. Same boat as you life long fan born in 85 so its rough but I believe always have. Be nice to believe and see results. If anything we went from the oldest team in the league to MUCH younger.
ANY qb would have done horrible today w that pathetic line

Welcome.

I think the big thing (aside from having a good QB) is we don't have the depth right now to compete after injuries. We have a lot of rookies and 2nd year players out there right now. We're going through some growing pains, but this is the life of building through the draft, which we are really in our first year of. But once these guys get some experience under their belt, then we will start improving. I don't mind the losing right now, because we're playing young players. Give it time. Now if they don't start playing better in a few weeks, then I get worried about the draft being a total bust...and that would not be good. Tough to evaluate with a rookie center and a crap QB.
Miss you 21

Thank you guys for the welcome. Chiefhog44 - I agree with you on not minding the losing right now because of playing younger players, but I just wish some of our guys would show more heart and be more competitive. Cowboykillerz - I have heart just like you and trust me every Sunday I always feel like we can win. After the 1st quarter it can quickly change, but I believe. haha

i generally agree with most of this-- except i can't really say if Beck is a crappy QB or not because even Tom Brady would've scored 0 points behind that line today.

To me it is no consolation that we are playing young players. I still hate losing, and I always believe that losing is contagious just like winning is contagious. The Bills went out and won today with a bunch of no name guys they picked up in the seventh round or later. A good coach can get a lot out of mediocre talent. We rolled over and died today. I agree that we are on the right track in cutting the past their prime big names and signing more younger guys -- but we still have to find a way to be competitive, even with the injuries and the rookies. This is the NFL and nine sacks is totally unacceptable.

Today's loss was an embarrassment.

Hail Redskins.

You cannot call Beck a crap QB just yet. I believe Aikman raised a good point in yesterday's game in saying how can anyone evaluate Beck with a crappy support system around him?
