Wish we would have traded him this past offseason. I don't think we are ever going to see a fully functioning
ey again. One of those concussions in particular really shook him up, and all of these nagging injuries aren't suddenly going to get better. Or at least, I wouldn't bet on them getting better.
(Not because of this; I'm on record for holding that opinion before the strike was resolved.)

+1. He also seems a lot more interested in the off-the-field stuff (radio shows, etc.) lately.

Sure that is why hw came into camp the lightest he has ever been in his professional career.

What concussions?
I think going to IR will help get his knee right for next year.
Still think a trade doesn't and didn't make sense. The return fire what you give up wouldn't have been worth it!

Is this a joke? Well, now I have to dig up the thread where I said Fred Davis would have better numbers than him. Actually I'm not. Some Coyote decided to take a dump by my front door and I have this girl coming over later. Wait, no, on second thought, she can clean it up. I will text her now about it.

Maybe it was just one. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5700254) But he never seemed right after that. Didn't have the same focus or drive.

I am skeptical. But even if that heals, I think something else will creep in. His knee isn't the only reason he wasn't getting much playing time.

Well of course it doesn't make sense now. Buy low and sell high. With

Well, I'm not 100% sure what that means, but I bet we could have gotten our money's worth out of a trade this past year or even the year before that. Now, not likely.

We'll see what happens but i wouldn't be surprised if he's played his last game as a Redskin.

Well of course it doesn't make sense now. Buy low and sell high. Withey bordering on the downhill side of his career and with Fred Davis on the bench, we rolled the dice that he'd have one more really great season. We lost.

No way we would have gotten anything higher than a 3rd last off season even though he was coming off a season that only 2 or 3 TEs had better seasons. He got ripped off for the PB, so unless we were going to get a first round pick for him you just weren't getting value.
Why would you think he only has one more good season in him. I wager he has three or four more seasons where he finishes in the top give in both catches and yards.
He has never had a good QB and he is almost always in the top ten or the top five in both catches and yards.
Frankly I hope he leaves and goes to a team with a great QB so wr all can say why did we get rid of this guy after he goes to three or four more PBs.

Let's say that we could only get a 3rd for him last year. (I doubt this is the case, but I'm willing to grant it.)
If I'm even close to being right, then that still would have been the right move. We got nothing out of
ey this year, and his future prospects on this team are not looking good. Even if he came back healthy next year, I don't see how he could outplay Fred Davis and win the starting spot.
So yes, I'd take the 3rd in that situation. And while that's with some benefit of hindsight, it's far from certain that a 3rd was the most we could get for him.

Hey man, I was talking about this before the lockout!![]()
It's so rare that I'm right with a prediction that I'm going to ride this one for as long as possible . . .
Wno is saying you where right? I'm certainly not.
Just because

Lets say we had traded him for a 4th or a 3rd and he was inured this year but goes on to have multiple PBs with the team we traded him to in the future. He has been a top 5 TE over the past several years that he was healthy (and even last year when he wasn't healthy) and there is no indication that he won't be anything other than what his recent past performance indicate.
So go ahead and part yourself on your back, but just because you think you're right doesn't make it so.

Just because Cooley wasn't healthy all year doesn't make you right.

The reason why he was here for sure is that no team out there would give you enough trade value for you, as a team to move him. Keep in mind he was coming off injury. Also, outside of the Carson Palmer trade this year, teams were very conservative with the compensation they gave to other teams. I'm sure no one was willing to give anything higher than a 5th or 6th round pick. Keep in mind that teams have to take on his salary and give up a pick for a player coming off injury. Didn't make sense for other teams to offer more or for Washington to take less.

I already addressed this argument in my last post, so I won't do that here.

It is of course possible that I am wrong. And if

(. . . but right now, based on the evidence we have, things are continuing to point to the conclusions I've been advocating. Something could change, but unless it does . . .)
Anyway, I think your post here misses the point. CT is trying to defuse any claim to victory by saying it's based on hindsight. Well, I could be right or I could be wrong, but supposing I'm right for a moment, I can truthfully say it wasn't due to hindsight.
He turns 30 in the off-season. Wonder how many non-legends made multiple Pro Bowls after turning 30 (or legends, for that matter)?
You were a great pick and a good home-grown Redskin, Chris but I think Inu-Bru was right.
