stick a fork in us we are done
i bought into this crap yet again ...... NO MORE !!!!!
first off our QB situation should have been addressed we didn't look where are now heading back where are used to being last place in the NFC EAST
our OLINE is average at best we can't run we can't pass, our WRs are jokes hahaha
so now we are right back where we started a team with little direction if any. a head coach who thinks we can win with beck and grossman as our QBs really.
the only thing we have that is starting to look like a pro nfl team is our D and it still a few players away.
nothing has changed .... we continue to take 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards.
now let me make it clear once a skins fan always a skins fan and i will sit through every win and loss just tried of thinking this team is going anywhere until the players are in place to make it happen.
there said what i needed to say ..... still dont feel any better
GOOOOOOooooo

Funny you should make this quote after a game when the loss was almost exclusively the fault of the D.redskinz4ever wrote: the only thing we have that is starting to look like a pro nfl team is our D and it still a few players away.
We have an offense that is struggling and the D couldn't force a punt to save their lives. Get off the field and give your O a chance.
If the D had a halfway decent game wr win that game.
They sucked yesterday!
By the way we aren't done!
Even with JH as the DC this D won't play that bad mabby more times this year and I have faith that Beck will improve.
We finish 8-8 which is what I thought they would before the season started.

I could see the rationale behind this post if we were say, 3-7. But to say we're done this early in the season is a HUGE mistake. We're sitting currently at .500 and I know on paper our schedule looks tough, but I know this team will turn it around and upset a lot of teams/people with some games. I'm really hoping for a 10-6 record, but more realistically clinging for a 8-8, which I don't consider a bad season for a team in rebuild mode.

To a degree I see what you are saying, but a deeper analysis of the record and situation makes this more alarming. While we played well against the Giants in the first game of the season, we have been horrendous ever since. We picked up 2 wins agains the 1-5 Cards and 0-6 STL. We have lost in back to back games agains the 2-4 Eagles and 2-5 Panthers.StorminMormon86 wrote:I could see the rationale behind this post if we were say, 3-7. Our opponents' collective record is 12-25 of which we are sitting straight at .500. What does that tell you? For me it tells me that we are a .500 team when playing teams that have winning %s of around .32. Not good.
I hate to burst your bubble, but there is no way this team is 10-6 this year. None. If we can only go .500 against the teams we have played thus far (and before the injuries) there is not chance we go 7-3 against a schedule full of teams with better win %s than 32%. Honestly, Miami, Minn, and Seattle are the only teams I see as being inferior to the skins right now.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

The D sucked, but the offense was awful as well. 53 yards passing and 6 points in the first half against one of the worst defenses in the NFL is a joke.skinsfan#33 wrote:Funny you should make this quote after a game when the loss was almost exclusively the fault of the D.redskinz4ever wrote: the only thing we have that is starting to look like a pro nfl team is our D and it still a few players away.

that is my point kinda .... we were a bad / lucky 3 - 1 team ...... and our team is well not very good.cvillehog wrote:We're not any more done than we were at the start of the season. Smart money says this is about an 8-8 team, give or take a game. I don't see what's changed.
yes our D did struggle yesterday but over all our D is solid pretty much the only part of this team that has us at .500
i like beck but he no franchise QB which this team needs worse than anything.
now without moss and a sad excuse of a running game ..... 6 - 10 if we get lucky

For one thing, injuries. It's going to be difficult to finish up at .500 with the injuries we've sustained and our lack of depth.cvillehog wrote:We're not any more done than we were at the start of the season. What exactly did you buy into? I bought into the Shanaplan too, but I wasn't expecting an 11-5 year with a run at the Super Bowl.redskinz4ever wrote:i bought into this crap yet again ...... NO MORE !!!!!
As CanesSkins points out, injuries are going to make it tough for us to show improvement. I think we can still meet the milestones of an improving team this year: as always, 8-8, with anything more being icing on the cake. It will be a struggle to make it even that far.

You mean the offenses that was doing exactly what most of you wanted them to do, running the ball. Yes, Beck was off but he really didn't have much reason to throw the ball. One of the drives they got into field goal range without even throwing one pass.CanesSkins26 wrote:skinsfan#33 wrote:Funny you should make this quote after a game when the loss was almost exclusively the fault of the D.redskinz4ever wrote: the only thing we have that is starting to look like a pro nfl team is our D and it still a few players away.

The offense was moving the ball all first half.
The Defense simply didn't get off the field and gives the O many chances!
Plus it didn't help the DHall Carlos'd an easy pick six right before half.
The offense had three bad plays the first half. The Beck fumble, more on Brown than Beck. And the two back to back horrible plays by Gaffney right before halftime.
The second half, Beck lead the team on 2 TD drives. But again the defense didn't get off the field and only forced 1 punt the second half.
I put this loss 90% on the defenses.

Goodness gracious, get yourselves together. You ONLY have yourself to blame if you expected but so much out of this team. I don't care what the media relations people say, they are REBUILDING. It takes TIME. Get it thru Ur skulls. The crying is just ridiculous.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
You're exactly right CLL
c'mon guys - there were a number of us here that were looking at a possible 9-7 but more realistic 8-8 season
INJURIES are a part of the NFL - I certainly did not expect to go injury free this season
we could have gone 12-4 or better if we'd started with Beck at QB AND with no injuries - coulda, woulda, shoulda
FACT IS - we should have won ALL 3 games we've lost
The Shanaplan is working towards having this franchise consistently making the playoffs starting in 2012
enjoy watching this franchise get better with Allen & Shanahan in charge here

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
I still think this team has a good run left in them. We are younger now and still have many bumps and bruises to gain.
Defensively there has to be some adjustments made. Like an emphasis on keeping contain. Stay disciplined rather then going for the big play all the time.
Offensively just stop turning the ball over. This team has some good football left in them. So if we we can play mistake free football with our defense getting it back together. Then we will be ok.
So Haslett and defense has to get it right. He has to make the necessary adjustments before, during and after the game. John Beck just has to not turn the ball over and get us at least 21 points a game.
This week we will see how things go. The injuries obviously dont help. Some players have to step up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what the defense did on Saturday? They went off of the aggressive gameplan full of cover zero in the second half, and that's when they had all of their offensive success.HEROHAMO wrote:Defensively there has to be some adjustments made. Beck had a fumble on a sack, which ultimately comes down to a protection issue (even the vaunted Tom Brady fumbles sometimes when getting hit as he's trying to throw), one ball that should have been picked, and then one INT that was apparently Hankerson's fault. Considering that he was asked to come from behind in his first start since 2007, I think he did OK.HEROHAMO wrote:John Beck just has to not turn the ball over and get us at least 21 points a game.

I am surprised how some of these people make it through life. If the Redskins falling to 3-3 makes them this depressed, what would a real life problem do to them.

This team is still in the hunt for the division, which is all we can realistically ask for at this juncture.

Where did I say aggressive gameplan full of cover zero?
When I say adjustments I mean adjustments as in making real time adjustments according to what is working and what is not working.
You can think the season is over if thats what you choose. I wont try to change your mind. I am simply pointing out what I see.
This team has talent. It is a work in progress though. That is the beauty of success. You have to enjoy the journey.
Yes there needs to be some changes. Thats why they gameplan every week. From my non pro opinion. I say they should dial it back on defense a bit. When in the world should we be calling cover zero? Rare is the case that we should be doing this. Blitz a max of eight with at least two deep. Maybe one man in the middle. Mix up the blitzes and play coverage more often. I was saying this a couple weeks ago. We have the talent to get some coverage sacks.
Remember guys it was a work in progress to begin with. It still is. I see the progress from last year to this year. I think it is great. I also have confidence that Beck will improve as well.
Lock it down. Skins win against the Bills this week. The Bills are no pushover but we win in a slugfest. Skins right the ship and win by a field goal.

To your first paragraph, you said the Skins D should stay disciplined instead of going for the big play all the time.
