Dallas Week... The Hate Runs Deep
The Fire smoldered from before the Dallas Cowboys had a roster... You've heard the story of GP Marshall being "blackmailed" to support the proposed franchise... but the flames were skillfuly fanned to white hot by George Allen...
It's Dallas Week. I've re-run my blog about the real birth of the rivalry... Dallas Week: Memories of the Past

I'll never forget watching this game live. I was watching the game with an Iggles fan. Right after he just got finished telling me "this one's over" Brunell hit Moss for the first TD!
Nothing better than beating the Cowpies and having Philly fans eating crow at the same time!
Hail!

Thank you! As I said, Dallas sucks, where is there to go from there? Dexter was illiterate, I have two masters degrees, but sense is just sense...Countertrey wrote:Dexter was a master orator.

Beating the Cowboys is always a good thing ...
Beating the Cowboys like that .... with Brunell
is just priceless
we're not really good yet but we're getting there
any win against these guys, at their house, is always going to be special
it would be just fantastic to start this year off 3-0

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

My hate runs so deep that I get annoyed when people give well "wishes" to old Redskins who now play on the cows. Like, really.. you hope they do well? Break a leg why don't cha? Why not two? .. and accidentally trip over your teammate and hurt them too?

As for this part:langleyparkjoe wrote:My hate runs so deep that I get annoyed when people give well "wishes" to old Redskins who now play on the cows. Like, really.. you hope they do well? Break a leg why don't cha? Why not two? .. and accidentally trip over your teammate and hurt them too?
gosh man.

But for this part:

I despise Ttit above all other teams, of any sport (save for Duke, with whom they are tied), and (unfortunately) the state of Texas itself as a result.
Anecdote: my father is from Shreveport, LA (basically east texas) and was a cowgirl fan growing up. Moved to MD before I was born (by the time I was in elementary school ours was a skins house). But, as a small boy (1-2yrs old) I apparently had a Cowgirl's robe. They took pictures of this. When the 8 year old me found said pictures, I asked my mother and father what in the hell they had been thinking. Receiving no rational explanation, since there isn't one, I went through all family pictures, found every one with me in that robe, started a fire in the fireplace (ok, my Dad did, but nevermind who did what!) and burned them all. More than 1 was a group family shot, at Christmas time.
Didn't matter to me. I. Am. A. Redskins. Fan. Period. I despise all things starred.
Epilogue: My wife was a Cowgirls fan when I met her in August 1997. By Thanksgiving 1997, she was bleedin' burgundy and gold. And rooting for whatever team played Ttit that year on turkey day. HTTR
-Santana Moss on Our QBI know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

I gotta be honest I enjoy seeing puke players injured and cheer when its a star... If they gotta be carted off I smile inside. If I met Homo I'd tell him he's the gayest thing from Texas since brokeback mountain he sux at golf and is the best fourth quarter game blower ever. Then I'd spit and tell him I hope Fletcher breaks the rest of your ribs.
Awww thatd be nice. Any way wth is Ttit?

I came to the US in 1970 - a big reason I became a Redskins fan was because of the Allen players & the intensity on and off the field ESPECIALLY against the hated "goddamned cowboys"
I loved Kilmer & Jurgenson and their exploits in Georgetown were legendary - even on Saturday nights too

The Cowboys were the enemy as far as I was concerned
I loved the Redskins & hoped that whichever team was playing the Cowboys would win
Someone calling the pukes "America's team" made me want to

GO SKINS - BEAT DALLASS

I'll never forget that hit. The way that ball flew out...just incredible. So many memories in such a short career.FanofallthatisGibbs wrote:Seeing that video and that hit Sean Taylor made, damn, he is so missed. For all the great feelings those moments brought, the flipside of his loss is 10x more felt.
Let's break another rib for #21 and get the win Monday night!
RIP SEAN TAYLOR #21
ah...the moments...
- Sonny carving up the Cowboys after the Skins fell behind about 13 - 0 in the first few minutes. No hurry, no worry...just hitched his pants over his belly and threw pass after pass to Jerry Smith, Larry Brown, Charlie Taylor, Roy Jefferson; handed to Brown who popped through the Cowboys defense like a torpedo. The winning TD, and end sweep by Charlie Harraway with Brown cutting the Cowboys CB in half using a textbook-perfect cross-body block.
- Ken Houston, Walt Garrison, and The Tackle for the Ages.
- Diron Talbert tackling Gentleman Roger Staubach for a loss, and dragging Staubach's head on the turf for about 10 yards. Before all those fussy "protect the QB" rules.
- Daryl Grant
- Russ Grimm: "Randy, we like you so much we're going to run that same play again". And again. And again.
- No Danny, NO!
- The '92 home game, when Master Aikman got stuffed, the ball rolled around the endzone, and the Redskins scored the winning TD as Jimmy Johnson mussed his hair.
- '05 when the Redskins were out of the pplayoffs, according to "the experts", and they beat the guts out of the Cowboys and went to the playoffs.
- '07, I remember a slick field and Jason Cambell hurting his knee, being replaced by a backup we kept calling "Kerry Collins", and, again, a Joe Gibbs team mangling the Cowboys to fight into the playoffs.
So many, so many moments.
