Redskins-Cardinals postgame: Skins to 2-0

Not much of a season breaker, tomorrows game does have some importance though. For the season the skins are 1-0. Aside from putting a number in the win column, a win tomorrow will bring much needed emphasis on a "CAN DO' and "WILL DO" attitude much like the one that we all saw last week when the skins put the giants away. Sunday's game is one the skins should win. Going in as what I would call a favorite, the skins have all the tools on defense to shut down the Cards offense, and given the perfermance and control that the offensse showed last week, I see no reason why a loss could be catorized as anything other than a letdown. The defense of Arizona remains a mystery to me until tomorrow, so lets not count out a good battle. The real test will be to show up and make plays, if the skins choke tomorrow like in seasons past, it will dampen any hopes of the consistency that makes a champion. Not that im a spoiled redskins fan but last weeks nonchalant second half dominance proved that the skins can play a great 4 quarters of football. My prediction THE SKINS START THE SEASON WITH 4 STRAGHT WINS -----HAIL TO THE REDSKINS----

To me this game is huge. It "solidifies" beating a "better" team - the Giants. It's like holding serve in tennis after you break a guy. This game is a real test with the Cowgirls 8 days later. If we lose to the Cards we have to make up for it as an underdog in some other game.

WE NEED THIS WIN! LET'S SPANK THE FRACKING CARDINALS!

the cowboys next week should be a blowout,
skins 31 cowboys 13. concentrating on beating the cardinals tomorrow is what 53 redskins are doing right now. I would just like to see two wins straight, some consistency is always nice. Last weeks 4 quarters of decency was very nice, but as we all know over a full season, 20 games, a winner has to prove itself each week.

How huge was that defense on the last two series? I was thinking "same ol' Redskins" after the Fitzgerald TD, but that three and out followed by a fumble recovery won us the game more than anything else!

Nice to see that Brian Orakpo put in a little extra effort before showing up on the Postgame SHow by working the parking lot. He should have taken off his yellow reflector vest though.

I stayed with it, but you gotta admit, that Fitzgerald TD was all too familiar especially late in the game.

That was definitely a loss for us last year but D stepped up late for us once again!

I got down on them for mistakes, but I believed in them. Improving teams win these kinds of games.

Like, I said. I get it but I also see the difference in this team. The mindset is different, even if they had loss, they wouldn't have quit.

Also, I'm a competetive/aggressive person, I can't quit. So I fully believe in "00:00".

What did this game reveal to you?

I think the biggest problem, and it's a glaring one, is the offense's inability to capitalize from inside the redzone. They have no problem moving the ball up and down the field, but they've got to figure out how to finish drives.

I thought the defense played lights out in the 1st half, but were having trouble getting off the field in the 2nd half. If they can figure out how to be as effective for 4 qtrs as they were in that 1st half, this will be one tough-ass D!

It's easy to see this team is better than it has been for quite some time. What really impressed me was how they were able to compose themselves late in the game, after the Cards seemingly had all the momentum on their side, and win this one. Last year the Skins would've lost this one....

Yup, two bad picks by Grossman but they managed to overcome. They've got to do better against elite talent. People in the game thread were saying not to blame Grossman for the second int because it was tipped... but it was way too high and IIRC a little behind. A better thrown ball is an easy completion.

We saw Good Rex and Bad Rex today. Silly turnovers but very effective on some drives.

I think you're overlooking the uncalled interference on that play.

The Skins won when they were underdogs against the Giants and won against the Cardinals.

They have a great running back tandem in Hightower and Helu. Too bad we have played two teams the last two weeks with poor secondaries as the play calling reflected it. I can't wait to play a team with a poor run defense.

The draft was great for the Skins and the other pieces are falling into place except for Gano.

Only because he missed one earlier and kicked the kick-off out of bounds. He was 0-1 last week. That's why two weeks in a row the Skins have gone for it on Fourth down. I wouldn't look for a new kicker but I don't see him being nothing but worries. Go for it on Fourth Down is my cry!!

They've improved greatly over past years. Even in this game, when it mattered we made good on it. I wouldn't call it our biggest problem.
