Middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, who left the Eagles after the 2001 season as a free agent, has agreed to terms with the team on a one-year contract for the 2004 season.
Pending a physical, Eagles fans could look forward to seeing more of this in 2004. Trotter must first pass a physical examination Thursday, and then will be available for a press conference which will be broadcast live on PhiladelphiaEagles.com.
Trotter played the last two seasons for the Redskins after leaving the Eagles. He played four seasons with the Eagles after the team made him a third-round draft pick in 1998. The Stephen F. Austin product played sparingly as a rookie and then started his next three years with the Eagles, twice earning Pro Bowl spots.
But a contract dispute led to Trotter's departure. He objected to the Eagles' decision to place the franchise tag on him, and loudly campaigned to have the tag removed so he could become an unrestricted free agent.
The Eagles, unable to sign Trotter to a long-term deal, did just that. In the off-season between the 2001 and 2002 seasons, Trotter signed on with Washington.
In his first year there, Trotter had 104 tackles in only 12 games before his season ended because of a knee injury.
Last year he again surpassed the 100-tackle mark for Washington in a terrible year for the Redskins while starting every game at middle linebacker.
When Joe Gibbs took over in Washington, the Redskins released Trotter to free some space under the salary cap.
Now, two weeks before training camp is to begin, Trotter returns to the Eagles, pending his passing the physical exam on Thursday.
Thats alright, run a whole lot of reverses Misdirections, and Play Actions. He will roam and be out of position like always.

God Bless this post and Oafusp. The Darrell Green thread (which I unfortunately started) was starting to make my head hurt. Let's get back to what really matters...hard hitting wit and some Cowboy dumping.

From the Skins?
Trotter was HARDLY a true Redskin. Money brought him here, not loyalty. Actually, money was ALSO the reason he had to leave, or, rather, was shown the door.
dexter, i edited your post above. please refrain from swearing in the public forums. talking smack is the place for that. BTW typing a couple letters, and a couple symbols as the word still apllies.
