There must be a few trades in the making with all these WRs and LBs we are keeping so far.

Update:

Russellmania980 Chris Russell
A league source again cautioned just now that the WR numbers are a little out of whack, because #Redskins are trying to make trades.

Seven WRs plus Banks (he belongs to Danny Smith) and nine LBs in a 3-4 scheme is about right

Good point. OL must be what they are trying to trade for.

It's after 4:00. The final lists are supposed to be in now, right?

By my count we are down to 59. I assume the other 6 cuts will include Royster, Draugn, Anderson & Schouman.

That's 8 rookies not including Jenkins who have made the roster. RT @MikeJonesWaPo Chris Neild made the 53. Rookie NT out of WVU #Redskins

That's what you get for relying on the cap expert, DS...
Of course, this seems like some remarkable flexibility. Do we have to pick a date "this year" or will any day do?

Anthony Bryant has been released. He confirmed that via phone, just now. #Redskins

This one surprises me. Neild was getting pushed back in preseason games and Bear? Nobody pushes him back. I was thinking that Bear would keep the back up NT and Neild would slide over to Jenkins' slot while he develops as a NT. Got that one wrong.

I thought we would keep both. If only 1, I agree with going with youth/upside.

I count 9. 8 draft picks & UDFA Willie Smith.
The only picks released were Robinson, Hurt & Royster (I think).

Chris Russell thinks:
Wonder if #Redskins are in on Kentwan Balmer who played some NT. They put a claim on him in AUG, but CAR was awarded. He was cut this week.

That reinforces the feeling that this year's draft was the best in a long, long time. Lots of picks, lots of keepers. Very happy that Banks is in. I guess he's filling the 3rd QB spot. Should provide a lot more benefit for the team than one would ever expect from a #3 QB or #5-6-7 reciever. Thank god we finally have a quality FO.

According to a #Redskins source: Trade talks involving Artis Hicks didn't result in a deal yet. He's expected to be placed on waivers.

The 6 pm deadline for trimming the roster to 53 has passed. Let's see how long the Redskins wait to announce it. Was around 9pm last year

Worth noting. RT @MikeMcCartney7: Today is about an INITIAL 53 man roster. Not a FINAL 53 man roster. Many changes coming.

Not necessarily. Several years back, all 10 picks made the roster. Only Davis, Jackson & Moore are still on the team.

Good Point!. I do remember the excitement when all 10 draftees made the roster and then Horton had that good rookies season with expectations that he would get even better. It is said that it takes three years to evaluate a draft class. We will have to wait three years for this one too; however, it appears that his class had more competition to make it.
