Former Redskins GM and current Baltimore radio host Vinny Cerrato welcomed Rick ‘Doc’ Walker on his 105.7 show to preview the Redskins last week.
I know it’s a week old, and I know you’re all sick of my Vinny Cerrato posts, but this led to one of the greatest question-and-answer I’ve ever heard on sports talk radio.
Cerrato: “Hey Doc, has it been a peaceful camp this year? You haven’t had the McNabb and the Haynesworth things to cause all kind of issues and media attention?”
Walker: “Well absolutely. I mean, number one, you were a rock star, so you took a lot of publicity and that kind of stuff away from [camp]. This is calm now. Calm. There’s really nothing. It’s boring. You would hate it. You wouldn’t even understand this, because all it is is football. It’s just practice.”
I mean, Vinny invited Doc over, opened the door, shook his hand, offered him drinks and snacks, and then Doc dumped a bucket of rotten fennel over his head.
WOW that had to hurt...
They do say the truth hurts
Did the D O C go too far?

Considering Doc's position with his loyalty to Skins, I think he did a great job. What I like about it is that he simply answered his question and didn't just come out and say it.
Doc answered the question and threw in a little more 'spice' for good measure
gotta love it
thanks for the link - did the interview create any issues?
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
I dunno man, I just think it's rude to be invited onto someone's show and try and start something. It's like going into someone's home or something.
Sure, Vinny was ineffective as a GM (try to put yourself in those shoes with coaches and schemes changing every minute) but to get slammed on his own show? It's unprofessional.
"Guess [Ryan Kerrigan] really does have a good motor. And is relentless. And never quits on a play. And just keeps coming. And probably eats Wheaties and drinks Apple Pie smoothies and shaves with Valvoline." -Dan Steinberg DC Sports Bog
I understand SF55 but ...
he did not 'attack' Cerrato OR put him down BADLY - he was not rude
He was honest and giving his opinion
I'm not sure how he could have toned it down and still kept his integrity
Cerrato has got to have a thick skin - PLUS he has no sense of what Doc is really saying

I absolutely LOVE that response!!!!! Vinny Van Halen led us thru a decade of torture with all his big name big flop signings and poor mid to late round drafting when he had picks that is. I know we have quite a ways to go but I'm loving the way the team is forming into this very specific plan that Shanny and Allen have. Also the Big D is doing everything he should be doing which is a whole lotta nuthin.
