Vick gets $100 million

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Vick gets $100 million

Post by Skinsfan55 »

Wow, just wow.

The man who strangled, electrocuted, and brutalized dogs to death with his bare hands and spent 18 months in federal prison is back, and he's the face of the Eagles franchise. Figures.

You know what? The Redskins are to blame.

In week 10 last year Mike Vick carved us up, the Redskins were totally powerless to stop him. That single game earned an ex-con $100 million.

Now it's my hope that this blows up in a bad way for the Eagles. That Vick turns back into the arrogant superstar he was in Atlanta. That he lets the money go to his head, that he fails. He was never that great a player in Atlanta and 2010 was his first season with over 60% completions.

Just keep this in mind regarding Vick's reputation. In his career he's:

* Been involved in the distribution of marijuana (2004)
* Stolen a watch from an airport security screener (2004)
* Been sued by a woman for giving her genital herpes, aka the Ron Mexico incident (2005)
* Given the double middle finger to Saints fans during a game. (2006)
* Been caught with a water bottle containing a secret compartment most often used to smuggle drugs. (2007)
* Repeatedly ditched public appearances he's committed to.
* Been indicted for dogfighting and spent 18 months in jail. (2007-2009)
* Failed a drug test for marijuana while on bail. (2007)
* Been accused of fraud and misappropriation of funds by the US Dept of Labor.
* Been tied to steroid allegations (2010)

That's the kind of guy we're talking about. The kind of guy for whom federal dogfighting charges is only a piece of the overall picture.

I'm trying to get #ronmexico to trend on twitter. If you have a twitter handle just link to some negative Vick story and use #ronmexico as a hashtag, try to get people involved. Thanks.

I'll do just the opposite and link to positive articles while still using the #ronmexico tag. I find his nick name amusing, so I will still use it. LOL

On a serious note, get over it. I'm glad the man was able to overcome HIS mistakes and overcome people like you that have ill-intentions.

He has donated to multiple times and continues to do so. Here's a short list.

- He donated $1M dollars to the Animal Hospital Foundation of America to help recover the dogs he hurt during his dogfighting program and as well as to help recover many other dogs involved in animal cruelty.

- He also started his own charity called the Michael Vick foundation which donated thousands and thousands of backpacks and school supplies to the people in need.

- On top of that, Michael is traveling all of the United States from school to school talking about how bad dogfighting is, how bad it could affect you if you did it.

And none of this is court ordered... He f'd up and is trying to educate others, and give back to those he hurt.

IMO vindictive people are just as bad as the people that they hate. There's a serious lack of forgiveness and entirely too much elitism among many people. Get over yourselves.

1Nik and CLL.. now hang on a sec my friends. You can't HONESTLY believe he's doing those things out of the kindness of his heart. Even though its not court ordered, the court of public opinion holds the most weight and that's with anything in life. Let's not forget the guy is still trying to own another dog and I for one believe that's the reason he's still doing things like that, to prove he's changed and all that garbage.

I detest that guy off the field and wish very bad things on him like him getting lost in a dark alley with a doberman, rottweiler, and a pitt. (not like die or break a leg or anything, something dog related)

Like I said. DEAL WITH IT. LOLOL

forgive me for this one Joe Gibbs but it's so appropriate and was the only one i could find. [-o<

Umm no because these issue's goes above the game of football IMO.

Now if you'd like me to answer as a fan of the team, I see no reason why Redskin fans would have their panties in a bunch. He never lasts a season and isn't going to do much in Philly. Goodness knows that Vine Young wont.

If you ask me for an opinion outside of football. The man served his time, lost his riches and has since worked hard to get some of it back.
But, I've been in many Vick threads. And like I said, most people who are anti Vick show the same lack of compassion and forgiveness for which they hate him for. I find it hilariously ironic and sickening that people can embody the thing they hate and not realize it.

Hey, it was the only one I could find. And like I said in a previous post, this entire thing goes above football IMO.

That being said, u should know by now that I could not possibly care less about how I'm perceived on this forum (with a few exceptions). Take 30 points away from me. #kanyeshrug

I remember what Vick did to us last year, so maybe that's why some of those Redskins fans your talking about may have their "panties" in a bunch. Obviously your talking about female Redskins fans. lol.

Man LPJ, you may just be the biggest homer I've ever come across! lol.

I see your point Chris, off the field has nothing to do with on the field. I do agree with that, sorry LPJ. On the other hand I do agree with LPJ about the picture thing, sorry Chris. lol.

Best site ever!

THANK YOU!!!!... now that makes sense, at first it was like you were sniffin Vick's you know what... the AUDACITY of you posting a pic of Vick verses your beloved Redskins makes you look like, well, an iggles fan more than a Redskin fan.

Look man, to get back on topic. I simply view this as more than football. IMO people have a sickening inability to forgive and I find it hypocritical that people can't seem to forgive in the manner in which they'd want to be forgiven. His actions were disgusting and reprehensible but to see people who blood thirsty (at times literally) for revenge. It's disgusting to me. To be so hateful and unforgiving is disgusting to me.

Funny thing is this. I live in Baltimore and remember when the Ravens picked up Donte. I think I might go back and list names of posters here that were up in arms. They were hateful, disgusted, blah blah blah. Now he plays for us and they want the man to make the team. Hypocrites.

Good luck to Vick and I hope he gets to put all of that $100 million in the bank

to be clear on that: - I want Vick to get $100M from the Eagles I also hope that he and Young don't play well at all

To be clear on that: - I hope that a lot of bad things happen to them on the football field AND they get slammed to the turf a few too many times

Don't like what he did but am glad for him that he's back on the field

NOW if somebody were to hurt him real bad - it's all a part of the game and I could NOT care less

I stilll hope that he gets to pocket all of that $100M - even if it's just to support his hospital bills
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I agree wit VLL about the Stallworth thing.. at least the guy who got hit didn't obey the law and cross where he was supposed to, unlike the dogs who were just used up from dog fighting so they were tortured and beaten to death.
