The only way to get Albert to play is the old "carrot and stick" method.
He must have wanted out pretty bad to take a pay cut, but with the incentives he can earn a lot of it back. Belichick knew exactly what he was doing when he traded for the guy.

Albert Haynesworth took a big pay cut to join Patriots

New England’s trade for Albert Haynesworth seemed like a typical Patriots low-risk, high reward gambit. The move looks like an even lower risk following news of Haynesworth’s restructured contract.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports Haynesworth took a pay cut in base salary all the way from $5.4 million base salary to $1.5 million. That’s quite a haircut, but Haynesworth can make back all the money in incentives if he has a terrific season.

If Haynesworth plays 20% of the team’s snaps, he gets $1 million. He then gets an additional $590,000 once he gets over each of the following playing time thresholds: 45% of the team’s snaps, 50%, 55%, 60%, and 65%. He gets an additional $400,000 if he makes the Pro Bowl.

Haynesworth has a base salary of $6.7 million for 2012, so he’ll to play very well to avoid getting cut after 2011.

The Patriots are getting their proverbial cake and making sure Haynesworth isn’t eating it too. He will be highly motivated to stay on the field to earn his incentives, and the Patriots can cut him more easily at any time without a huge financial risk.

the weather here is not even close to what it is like in July/August in NoVA

from what Red_One posted (above) about the salary - fat boy will get a chance but NE will cut his fat butt when they see what he's really worth

Former Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth entered a no contest plea to one count of simple assult Monday, one day before he was scheduled to go on trial on charges of sex assault.

As part of his plea agreement, Haynesworth agreed to an alcohol abuse assessment and a psychological-social assessment — as well as to stay away from the victim, a cocktail waitress at the downtown W Hotel he admitted to groping, and perform community service — within 18 months. If he does so, his record will be cleared.

And so the league undoubtedly will “review” the case under the Personal Conduct Policy. (Indeed, that’s precisely what NFL spokesman Greg Aiello just told me via e-mail.)

I am surprised that Roger hadn't called him already, but I guess he was waiting for this latest case to play out.

Indeed, if consistency means anything, Patriots defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth would be at least suspended for pleading no contest to simple assault, given that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was suspended six games (reduced to four) despite never being arrested or charged with any crime, in his life.

Consistency, for now, means nothing. According to ESPN, Haynesworth won’t be suspended.

Anyone want to try to explain why Goodell doesn't want to suspend Haynesworth?

I cannot stand this fat slob but the waitress and people who are advising her made it almost impossible to put the fat slob on trial

I'm sure Goodell would have loved to slap this fat slob up the side of his head but the STUPID legal guys for the waitress TOTALLY blew any chance at a trial

Last week, assistant U.S. attorneys Heide L. Herrmann and Sharon Donovan alleged in a filing that Haynesworth’s attorneys offered money to the alleged victim in the sex-abuse case against him in hopes of getting her to persuade the government to drop the charges.

Their filing came days after Haynesworth’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, made a similar accusation in his own filing. Bolden asked the judge overseeing the trial to force prosecutors to provide evidence, including the testimony of a security guard who allegedly told a grand jury that he saw Haynesworth grope the waitress

The guard later told one of Bolden’s private detectives that the contact was “consensual” and that he was offered $50,000 to testify on behalf of the waitress from a man who introduced himself as the woman’s attorney, Bolden said.

I don't follow your logic. He pled no contest. That is more than enough for Goodell to suspend him. (See Rothlesburger, Ben).
