Another First Round BUST....???

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Another First Round BUST....???

Post by tribeofjudah »

This guy was draft #11 of the First round in 2009.

Aaron Maybin - LB - Bills Bills OLB Aaron Maybin weighed in at 228 pounds when he reported to training camp.
He's just not taking this football thing seriously. Maybin was criticized for letting his weight get down to 235 late last season, and he showed up even lighter this year. He's not going to make it through September on the roster.

Chris Hamburger played at that weight...and he's making the HOF.

Just Kidding -- football has changed by about 30 lbs since Chris played for us!

Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good. Hasn't he only been in the league for two seasons?

Yes. drafted #11 in 2009.
He'll also need a change of attitude.

 He got cut partly because he doesn't like the 3-4 scheme.

Now where have I heard that before

Thank you for the clarification on Maybin. I didn't know that he had an attitude problem

Taylor Mays, Aaron Maybin.....these guys are looking like a BUST.

Now Maybin may be relegated to Strong Safety if he is to play at this level.

Aaron Maybin - LB - Bills After waiving OLB Aaron Maybin earlier in the day, Bills GM Buddy Nix told reporters Monday evening that he doesn't believe Maybin could fit any defensive scheme unless he moved to "strong safety or something."
Nix spoke of Maybin's limited size and strength, and his failure to keep weight on. Maybin reported to camp weighing in the 220s. He did draw high marks for effort in practice, but the Bills deemed him incapable of contributing in game situations. He'll be eligible for waiver claims until 4PM ET Tuesday.

The two teams interested in former Bills LB Aaron Maybin are the New York Jets and Chicago Bears.

It was Buffalo.... lol

Looks like he's going to the JETs. I have a gut feeling he'll fare a lot better there.

But then the Jets sent their 1st round bust OLB Vernon Gholston packing to the Bears - go figure.

Since they play a 3-4 & he is way too light for 3-4 OLB, I think you are right.

Not a bad idea. The kid might have a home at that position.

Jets signed him to a 1 yr contract:

My guess is he doesn't make the roster.

Yeah... it'll definitely be uphill for him... and, his history doesn't lend it'self to the kind of work hell have to do to impress the spawn of Buddy...

Good article!
That article says that Ryan plans to use him as a pass rusher and that it his weight is up to 242 but not confirmed.

Looks like he is staying at DE, but I still think that it is a good idea to look at him at Safety like LaRon plays.

Maybin still looking for work.....

Aaron Maybin's attempt to revive his career with the Jets came to an abrupt end Sunday when Gang Green cut the former first-round pick. Maybin, who had shown flashes as an edge pass rusher during his brief stay with the Jets, made the initial 53-man roster Saturday night. However, the linebacker became expendable after the team claimed four players off waivers, including quarterback Kevin O'Connell.

Maybin, who signed a one-year deal with the Jets after getting cut by the Bills last month, recorded 1-1/2 sacks in the preseason finale against the Eagles last week.
