Yankees slugger still feeling sluggish

Associated Press

HOUSTON -- Baltimore's Miguel Tejada replaced the Yankees' Jason Giambi in the American League's Home Run Derby lineup Monday.

Giambi, still recovering from a parasite that weakened him for much of June, will still participate in Tuesday night's All-Star Game.

Tejada will be joined in the AL Home Run Derby lineup by Texas' Hank Blalock, Boston's David Ortiz and Baltimore's Rafael Palmeiro on the AL team. The NL batters will be San Francisco's Barry Bonds, the Chicago Cubs' Sammy Sosa, Philadelphia's Jim Thome and Houston's Lance Berkman.

Berkman was picked Sunday to replace Ken Griffey Jr., who tore a hamstring a night earlier. Griffey will miss the All-Star Game but attend the festivities. Houston center fielder Carlos Beltran was picked for the NL roster to replace Griffey.

THG withdrawal is no joke.

Funny how many athletes currently being probed for steroid use are either "injured" or not performing the way we're used to seeing them do so.

GO MIGUEL!!!! =D>

I like how both Tim Montgomery AND Marion Jones failed to qualify for the 100m. That really made me smile.

Damn that was an awesome Derby! I hope he can just muster up enough power to hit 15 more the rest the year! And to think he wasn't even originally in it!

I got really pumped when Berkman was hitting them out of the park and then Tejada gradually gained steam when he was up after it.

The Astros fans were so mad. It made me laugh. ROTFALMAO
