The Redskins are "closing in" on a deal for free agent DE Cullen Jenkins, according to ProFootballTalk.

The deal isn't done yet, but we'd expect it to be finalized soon. The Redskins are yet to make their trademark big splash in free agency and landing the prototypical 3-4 end would be a start. Jenkins had seven sacks in 11 regular season games last year and was a key piece of the Packers' Super Bowl run.

Why? So that you can watch him in street clothes on the sidelines when he inevitably gets injured?

When word broke that the Redskins have signed defensive end Stephen Bowen, some fans were intrigued about the possibility that Bowen would be joined by Cullen Jenkins.

Instead, we’re now told the Jenkins talks are dead.

As we understand it, a handshake deal was close if not done. Something happened to prompt the Redskins to go for Bowen instead.

The offer was pulled once Bowen was signed...

Bowen is younger and health, might have dodge a bullet here

AGREED - I was never really liking the thought that we were possibly bringing in ANOTHER player with a lot of 'issues'

these guys are doing fairly well .... so far :D
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I agree. So far this is a collections of fairly football savvy moves. Nothing glittery, but good players with good work ethic who fits the system.

I'd like to see a solid ILB added to compete for the job next to Fletcher. I'd also like to see another offensive lineman added, not counting re-signing J. Brown and Grossman.
Build through the draft!
